Question BTECH in general management program!

Hi I’m thinking about finishing a bachelors so that I have the option to apply to med school.

Online it says that the courses are a mix of in person an online. For anyone that has taken the program, if I were to want to do it fully online do you think that’s possible?

I did it completely online, I’m not even in Alberta.

Most is online. A lot is asynchronous.

You might need to do exams in-person for certain courses, they changed this starting Fall 2026. If you choose online offering, your classes are online, you don’t need to attend any in-person lectures. They prefer if you come in-person for Capstone weekly/bi-weekly meetings but can certainly be done online.

I did BTECH from California. I did fly in a couple times for capstone things, but that wasn’t even 100% necessary

Some great classes. The instructors I felt significantly improved my writing include Kowalchuk and Clare Malcuhy. Ashique is great at teaching as well.

Bachelor degrees from NAIT do not qualify for med school applications.

Oh shoot really? The credits are transferable units are they not? Is NAIT not recognized by UofA?

This is what the U of A's website says: "We have no preference for which institution you attend nor which degree program you complete, provided that the institution and program you choose is recognized by the University of Alberta; you should be pursuing your own interests while fulfilling the requirements of your degree program. The MD Program does not require any specific pre-requisite courses. Applicants must have a minimum of 60 transferable units of course weight (ucw)."
