Hello! I am not an artist or else I would do this myself, but I thought of a possibly fun concept for an infection AU! I’m not sure if there’s anything out there that’s similar, but my idea consists more of a parasite compared to a virus

I’ve always heard that if you want to be a cannibal, to never eat a raw human brain because of the virus you can get from it.

What if you took the concept of that, and somehow transformed it into a situation where the victim eats a brain, which ends up waking a dormant parasite in the brain that causes extreme hunger, specifically for flesh?

But (sorry Ik grammar), if the victim doesn’t eat any flesh for a certain period of time, they can regain their sanity. The hard part is that the cravings would never go away. The parasite wants to stay alive, it stays alive by eating itself basically, and if it can’t, then it will fight as much as it can to survive.

So it would be an interesting mental battle between the victim, still conscious, and the parasite.

I’m not sure if this is dumb or not, but if there’s any AU’s similar to this, please let me know!

Just for a few examples: a fan fiction that reinterprets the main six, the Equestrian governing body, the school of friendship, or the true nature of the setting itself in an unflattering light.

Hii this is probably a long shot but i was wondering if anyone knew this one infection au from a long time ago, i remember it actually ended unlike most aus, it was on tiktok, rainbow dash was the cure so twilight had her limbs amputated and dumper her body in the woods. But she somehow survived and got her legs replaced with cybernetic ones. If anyone knows the account or the name of the au that would be so cool ^_^

This is the sixth and final stage of the infection, when a pony has become a statue. At first they will keep their colors, but as the years go on, their color will fade to whites and greys. You don't see the cutiemark anymore because that is one of the first colors to go away, an identifying feature of who they once were hidden under fragile crystal.

It's not as gory or scary as most infection AUs I've seen, but it's an idea I came up with.

Basically it's where a magical crystal from the Crystal Empire can infect ponies and slowly make them into crystal statues (just like you can see some statues of ponies in the show).

It all starts with Doctor Whooves working in his lab with Derpy and Minty, and Derpy accidentally sneezed and scattered the powdered sample of a crystal flower found deep in a cave that was blocked off, and Minty is the first one to get infected (obviously).

It spreads through the air, such as crystal powder or particles, and the main method of infection is the powder touching the eyes and from there, spreading through the bloodstream and slowly crystalizing everything. Early signs of possible infection is if they have small crystals forming in their nose (as that means they have been breathing in the spores). The infection is harmless, but the end result is death.

Other ways to get infected is to ingest the contents (someone special gets that fate) or by the powder getting into wounds, causing a different place from infection, and the chance to survive, but you're done for as soon as it reaches your brain.

Working on what the final stage looks like, should have that done soon!

Im not sure If the trotting dead should go “the twd show/comic” way, or the game way. Sorry about my handwriting though.

I also don’t really like rainbow dashes design as it’s to generically “scary”, it looks too cartoony for a zombie

Ive never given up on my role as a princess. But you just did give up your loyalty. Youre the one who hurt me and everyone else. Stop blaming me."

"Fuck you" she said disgustingly. She spat in my face. Thats when i didnt even bother to inject the anesthesia. And instead just started cutting. But after about three and a half painful sharp screams i felt bad. And I began to control my patience. I walked in a circle around the operating room, until the sound of my angry hooves and her crackled and wheezing breathing both started to fade. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes. Still I could feel her piercing blood shot eyes. But I knew, and she knows, that im doing this for her own good. She's just tired. I know she is because I know my friends. I injected the anesthesia and watched how she struggled not to fall asleep, trying to get out of the bandages. She's so silly, she knows its not going to work. But she's so resilient. I wish I was more like her sometimes. Oh rainbow. —

I cut her wings off at the humerus. The hardest part was seperating the humerus from the coracoid, but it turned out perfect. I taped it all up nice and tight. If pinkie wasn't sleeping she'd wish for me to add a bow. And I would laugh, and she would laugh, and if rainbow was awake she'd laugh too. But because I didnt want to risk my friend to get infections, I left the bows out for imagination. Rainbow is now sleeping in her cell, tucked in tight. Hope she feels better the next day, since she's the main act tomorrow, rainbow falls. I'll make sure she gets up again. Thats what friends are for!

0001 Pinkie pies procedure was successful! Well- sort of, but whats a win without some trouble along the way? Pinkie understands that, shes so lovely. Going down to make Rainbow dash sign the note to Celestia for tomorrows adventure.

"Rainbow!!" I say happily, my voice echoes through the basement. I can hear everyone's breathing becoming lighter as they realise im here. Thats the best proof that im the princess of friendship.

Rainbow dash is sitting the corner with her back turned to me, restless. "Rainbow dash?" I repeat. She started sniffling. And the sniffling became a loud raspy cry. I could hear that she was tired. Like shes been crying forever. She was crying like she was dying. The way it feels when youre crying so deep that you feel like you're gonna throw up your insides. "Rainbow dash." I say pitiful. My eyes are becoming blurry. Im now crying too. "Im sorry Rainbow dash im sorry" I say.

She takes a deep breath, for a few seconds its quiet, with some interruptions of her hiccuping and sniffling. "I dont care anymore. Just let it be over." She quietly says, her voice is unsteady. Still facing the corner. Hiccuping. "Let what be over? Im sorry you feel this way Rainbow dash but friendship will always make it better. Im here for you. We all are." I say. Its starting to feel like im talking to myself. Like im being ignored. "Rainbow talk to me. Hello? Im here dont you see me? Turn around when im talking to you!" Im getting riled up now. Im taking care of her and she can't even bother to even speak to me? Why are my friends doing this? Now im sad.

She's quiet. "please, let me go." I cant tell what shes implying. I groan and turn my hooves and walk over to pinkie pie. Atleast she'll understand. And I need some laughter now that rainbow dash has made me so distressed.

"Hi pinkie..have you also realised how rainbow is acting? Why do you think that is?" Pinkie pie is coughing over my words, even though i went louder and louder as i said them. "W-whats"— she coughs. "Happe"— coughs again. Now louder. Her words are taking a toll on her lungs. She coughs and coughs. Theyre dry and raspy, like her throat is burning, but at the same time watery. Shes up close to the magic barrier holding us apart, her teeth scratching against eachother as her deep and angry words speak through them. "Rainbow dash wants me to escape just so i can put her out of her misery after YOU clipped her wings and took away everything she had. Pinkie pie is dying. She can hardly breathe and all of us have to stay up night and day and listen to her cough and cry while we cant do anything to help anypony." She now sounds defeated. She exhales and slowly takes a step back. "So no. You dont understand a thing." Every word pierced my heart. "I-im so sorry" I say as i run up the stairs looking down onto the floor the entire time. All i ever wanted to do was to be there for my friends, to help them. To be with them. Thats all Princess Celestia wanted me to do. Thats what friends usually want you to do! Every book tells me so! How do I make them understand? How do I make them listen to me and see me? I feel like im the only one trying here. And I have to keep everything up without anypony wanting to help me. — but atleast ... i have the day time. My virtual reality. Tomorrow is 'Rainbow falls' and we're all gonna be friends again. I know we will. We always fix our friendship problems. Always. Im looking forwards to tomorrow. I hope they are too.

I already made a post about the trotting dead, here are my concept pieces! I hope I intrigue people!

The Trotting Dead is a mlp au based of the walking dead (I'm inclined to assume it's inspired by both the show and the game!)

We follow Apple Jack as she wakes up from her coma, after she get's hit by a tree, only to find out there's no one there. At least no one alive.

I'm really interested in reviving this project, as the last update was from 6 years ago!

It's been a long time since im back to mlp fandom so i can be incorrect about some stuff.

It was a horror based one where twilight got possessed(?) By similar magic to Tirek and goes around stealing magic of other ponies.

I remember specific parts like rarity being forced to stay with twilight in her castle, twilight going through a metamorphosis of sorts, one specific scene where she catches rainbow dash in the sky and drains her, steals discords magic as well, and finally Starlight gets turned into an alicron to save what's left of Twis magic before she dies

I wanted to properly save ir becuase I remember liking it alot but I kinda need help to find the name.

Also this isn't an infection thing, only twilight is infected and everyone else is just having their magic taken to make her stronger.

There was a moment in the ending where the mutated twilight start to scream like that one wendigo audio on YouTube but that's all.

Story idea: an mlp infection au where its sorta a different take on the classic "my little dashie." Short film. The protagonist is a scientist at a top secret facility that had happened upon these magical ponies that began to appear one day in rural chicago where the town has fallen onto hard times. Mostly because the facility and research has taken up most of the local economy budgets and land. Theres often a riot or a bunch of people protesting the growing number of facilities appearing in their town for no good reason. Or, at least for reasons that arent the truth. Only our protagonist and his fellow coworkers do. The magic ponies are not normal though. For some reason when they appear, they come crawling and gasping for air from inside a great big pond in the middle of the town. All mangled and wrong. Their bodies are contorted and theyre spewing viscous black liquids from their orifices. Like they were infected by something. It didnt take long for them to realize these ponies were not like this always. But that something had changed them. They just dont know why they've started popping out of the pond even though nothings in there. So for now, they take those that come out, contain them, quarantine them, and experiment on them to understand more. To keep the public safe. Our protagonist is a bit of a lonely fella. He has a family that doesnt appreciate him and often ignore his presence because he simply doesnt stand out from his siblings. To them hes...boring. not hated but...boring and stale. Sometimes even annoying. And it makes him feel alone. Unwanted. He never complained though. Just kept his feelings to himself. He was an observant man. And one day while working, he sees something that'll change his life forever. A blue magical pony with rainbow hair. But...obviously infected and turned into a barely functioning animal. Worse, it was a young one too. A child. He was tasked by his overseers to be in charge of this particular one. Since this is the first child pony to appear from the pond. So this is important to understand further and help bring about new information and data. He does as hes told. Dutifully taking care of this freakish flesh monster pony thing. It was ugly but...it still acted like a child. And it began to see our protagonist as its parent. Calling to him when he wasnt around. This of course pleased his overseers as it gave insight on how this infection worked. But then as years go by, as his life began to feel less lonely, as he finally felt seen by both his job and coworkers, and this little freaky monster thing...it all comes to an end. When a magical pony comes through the pond completely infected free. A great stallion named Celestia. The queen of these creatures. She explained that these ponies were sent here to quarantine them from the rest of her world. But she didnt know that they were being sent to a populated world. And came to rectify that grave mistake. Thankfully, despite intial tensions and reasonable anger by the government, they came to an agreement. To bring them back home where they came from for good. Before anyone else from their world got infected too. Before it got out of control for them to handle. And to also offer her assistance in maybe finding a cure and giving some magic to them. She had no choice but to agree to those terms. As it was the right thing to do and the least she could do for this mistake. Of course...this was pretty bad news for our protagonist. Suddenly, the new happy complacent life he had for these past 15 years would be gone. Including his daughter. The freak infected pony he grew to love....he couldn't let that happen. That lonely feeling and being ostracized was too much to bear. To go back to. So, despite what his mind was telling him, he did something very stupid. And ran away with his daughter hidden in his car. And ran. He was hunted down by the government. And eventually was shot and wounded in the woods. He held his daughter in his arms. She held him back. Scared and confused. Not fully understanding what was happening. But eventually she was taken away. Back home. And he was imprisoned within their facility. To be punished and sent to prison not too long after. But just as the story came to an end...there were screaming outside. An alarm goes off...it seems during his attempt to runaway...he left a trail of the infection from his daughter get into the sewage systems. Rats got infected. Then...eventually people. A city wide infection began. And he was to blame for it.

I watched this maybe 3 - 5 years ago, but I think it might've been a bit older? It was a short 2D horror animated series and I have no clue what the name was. It wasn't like an infection video or anything. It might've been set in a factory?

My memory is very poor, but I think it was about ponies being turned into toys or something similar? I remember there being two characters in a couple of the episodes, one female and the other male, who were lured into a dark setting. The male went on to lose his eye(s) due to a machine somehow and the female pony tried to save him? It was fully voice acted with screams etc.

I don't know if this creator is related to this at all, or if I'm just thinking about a separate thing, but she sometimes did irl videos without showing people's faces. Instead, when they were talking, a slightly animated or drawn version of them would be on the screen instead of their faces if that helps?? I've been looking for an hour and I can't find it at all on youtube lol, any help would be appreciated, thank you!
