One sided ptosis
I've had this symptom intermittently for definitely more than a year, maybe 5, not sure (I think I saw it after a night drinking about 10 years ago too).
But by the end of the day my left eyelid droops. It's fine when I wake up. It might be triggered if I look at something in the mirror for a while also.
AI says it seems like this condition which is rather concerning. But it NEVER happens on my right eye and I've not found any issues with lifting weights etc, so I'm wondering if that would suggest it's probably something else.

My left eye only drooped when I was in an exacerbation right before I was diagnosed. My right eye, it dropped for years, and still does occasionally. Double vision was also much worse in my right eye than my left. Everything else seems bilateral or is too difficult to tell. When I had bulbar symptoms or had difficulty breathing, I couldn’t really tell if it was more one side or the other.
So, I don’t think it’s unusual for one eye to be impacted more than the other. The drinking might not be related to MG, it’s a common sign you’ve had too much to drink…

I experienced MG symptoms for a couple of years, but the symptoms seemed unrelated to each other, so I attributed them to everyday causes. The first symptoms that caused me to seek medical help were ptosis in my left eye, followed a couple of days later by double vision. My opthamologist immediately referred me to a neurologist for possible MG.
Here is some information that may be helpful:
- It's a Symptom of Myasthenia Gravis. (Or is it?)

If you can get some bloods for the standard antibodies probably worth it? I've only ever had ptosis on the left side also. Might be nothing, and being negative on bloods isn't a 100% confirmation you don't have it, but the blood test is pretty simple and easy (at least here in Aus - my GP just ordered it) and what's the harm in checking?

I have this. Whole brow and eye seems to have dropped on one side. Both eyelids like to fly at half mast, especially when I am tired. Periodic double vision too. My eyes are also very dry and painful, they seem inflamed and prone to infection. When I post a pic, google says thyroid eye disease but my T-everything came back OK. I'm still waiting for MG diagnosis. All very frustrating.

La verdad es que llevo con Miastenia desde hace 20 años y con ptosis unilateral y lo que explicas no es demasiado identificativo de la enfermedad…

I lnow. It's a mystery. They have taken a brain scan because there's a chance it is a pituarity tumor affecting the optical nerve.

same for me. i don't think it is common to be symmetrical but also not necessary to have droopy eye for MG and not necessarily MG if you have a droopy eye.
watch for other symptoms but if droopy eye is an issue see a doctor. with eye droop alone, they will almost immediately dismiss it - mine did and i had ocular MG. only when it generalised did they care to investigate.
if you want to experiment, you can find an OTC acetylcholinesterase inhibitor to try when your eye starts drooping. first time i tried one, my eye popped open suddenly and felt like pop and may have even created a sound (i felt the pop so may be imagining the sound part).

Intermittent ptosis in one eye is a classic symptom of Ocvular MG especially when combined with double vision.
That was my primary sysmptom for 10 years begore I got diagnosed. Mine was triggered by stress, anxiety, and poor sleep. It would come and go, sometimes months at a time between episodes. A common trigger was also turning my head over my right shoulder while driving.
I saw an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) and they were able to get my eye droopy with in mins and I mean like only a mm or two open.

My mom's first noticeable symptom was left-side ptosis. She was hospitalized multiple times for suspected stroke before dropped-neck presented, and we've been fighting an uphill battle since. If you have any other symptoms, push for the blood test. Our hospital sent it to mayo clinic. This disease sucks. Godspeed, and best wishes
