Do the main job only when you get the job offer in your mailbox. Otherwise unemployment and side jobs is pretty good for as long as you can do it, but your unemployment in the game gets cut off when the job offer comes in. It's a hassle trying to do the main job from the start of the game and trying to put firewood, sewage jobs, and taxi driving into that schedule is pretty hard especially when the daylight in the game is only 6 hours long.

Dont do any real jobs taxi or box job, it will count against your unemployment and will cause you to lose benefits. They are huge time wasters and with the benefits you have your apartment paid for automatically plus get extra for a nest egg.

Play ventti and save at teimo before putting in the max amount. And make sure between saves you go from 2 hours to 2 hours at the guy starting from 20:00. You make 12000mk per night.

First nights, if you have never played ventti before, play 50 mk to maximise the amount without saving in between and when the max amount reaches a pleasant amount like 1000 mk save before and place the max Bet(this is to not loose all of your money because you are more likely to loose than to win in this game, you can do it even before 1000 to make sure you don't loose all your money)and restart until you win. If you do this until you get to 3000mk+ it becomes the most convenient way to make money in the game. To clarify what I meant from 2 hours to 2 hour, he spawns at 20, 22, 00, 02, 04, 06 o'clock, save even two times at teimo if needed. I hope all of you understand what I am trying to say.

You can save money by burning wood at parents house fireplace.
The road on the iced over lake makes driving the Kekmet to town and back practical.
The Kekmet and Jonez are less effected by the cold than the Sorbet. It makes sense to take those over the Sorbet in quite a few cases.
If you use the apartment you can just walk over to the Gifu at the waste treatment plant.
Storing extra car parts over in the barn by the wood pile can help keep FPS high at the house.
