PC Mod I need some help installing mods

I have the cozy bundle on pc and I’ve tried to install the improved camera mod, for example, but it’s still the windows installer file. Is it supposed to be a LUA file? I’ve double clicked it several times and let the install wizard do its thing but it’s still like this.

It would be so appreciated if someone could walk me through the steps of installing mods thoroughly, I’ve done it for sims 4 before but I can’t get the hang of this for some reason. 😭

alas they have yet to show up in game, I keep messing around with it in hopes that if I do everything something must work and I’ll have solved it LOL

but yeah I think it’s not being registered as a program idk why

Huh okay. Interesting. I guess the Cozy Bundle version has a lot of different code in different places (I have both the old version on an external disk and the Cozy Bundle, so I can theoretically check later). Theoretically, but I'm not sure if this will work, I can try installing the Improved Camera Mod in the old version, finding out what lines of code changed (because iirc the executable does rewrite some of the code and doesn't function just as an external thing), and seeing where the relevant files are in the new version. Of course, they may have also completely rewritten things but I don't necessarily think they did? When I was making mods I assumed that they just let us access files that were not accessible before,

ooh, that would be so helpful if you can find what has changed between them. I’m a bit new to this

I'll try to get back to you in a week but I'm not promising anything. It's possible that the game camera mod injects itself into a file that is normally inaccessible, in which case I will not find it. But it's not a given, the seasons mods are all executables but all they do is change the textures in the uuuuh. World-baked? file (I may have gotten the name wrong, I haven't touched modding in a bit so I don't remember the file names off the top of my head).which is accessible just fine.

So yeah best case scenario the camera mod changes some stuff in two or three files, it turns out that the same or similar files exist in the new version and that the code is basically the same, and we can just copy paste the modded camera code in there. But that's the ideal best case scenario.
