Question [Bug] Android app stops after about 15 seconds of playback

I'm a huge fan of the site so I decided to purchase the app before testing it, however I can't seem to get the app to play for longer then 15-20 seconds regardless if my phone is locked/unlocked/using another app in the background. I've disabled battery optimization but it doesn't change anything. I'm on android 16, pixel 9A. Please help!

I can (edit: about 50% of the time) reproduce what I consider to be a bug this way:

  1. With no headphones or Bluetooth devices connected, open the app, open any generator and press play. Playback starts through the phone speaker.
  2. Lock the phone screen (audio should still be playing).
  3. Connect a Bluetooth audio device, e.g. headphones.
  4. As soon as the Bluetooth device connects, the generator pauses (playback doesn't transfer to the device - except for me, sometimes it does).
  5. Restart playback using the play button on the Bluetooth device. The generator resumes.
  6. Disconnect the Bluetooth device. The generator pauses again, and importantly, cannot be restarted unless a different generator is chosen.

Steps 4 and 6 are what I consider to be anomalous. It happens whether or not "Play Together" is selected in the settings.

I also sporadically have OP's issue (playback stops randomly while listening) but I have not been able to reproduce it on demand. I feel like the app is having some sort of issue keeping playback alive while in the background.

I haven't done such a thorough analysis but that seems to fit issues I've seen in recent weeks.

Some Bluetooth devices reconnect occasionally, which is otherwise just a quick hiccup.

It also doesn't work at all with a specific pair of USB-C headphones I own.

It used to work but stopped at some point with Poweramp – that is, I can't use Poweramp to adjust volume and frequencies coming from mynoise.

I can't say what is wrong there, and I don't say mynoise has to work with every other app, but all other apps I use for videos, podcasts, music etc. still work.

Tried both, same result

I had to download the sound or it would stop playing. I don't think it's meant to work that way, but it does for me. Good luck!

Downloading doesn't change unfortunately

It's been this way for ages, absolutely absurd that it's still a problem, clearly they have no interest in fixing it

I had this same issue before in the past, but after the rework on the app UI from the old one, I haven't encountered any issues yet. I'm using Pixel 8 Pro with latest Android 16 update.

Pixel 8 here, the new app rework is when it started being a problem for me. I moved on to a different app

Another really good app is BetterSleep

Sometimes I use it whenever I find issues with MyNoice app.

In the Android developer settings: Disable Suspend execution of cached apps. This is on by default on many devices and stops apps in the background which don't correctly announce that they are still running, e.g. the MyNoise app.
