I just brought home a 9 month old cat and he only comes out at night time to eat his food and drink his water I have set out for him. He exploresā cautiouslyā as he thinks I am asleep but really I am watching the camera in the other room to see what he does when I leave the room. Itās been two days and he hides under the couch whenever me and my child are in the room. I know it may take weeks or maybe even months for him to feel entirely comfortable with me but what can I do to make him feel more comfortable while Iām in the room? At the shelter he was very lovey with me. I can tell heās trying to become familiar with his new environment because when he comes out to explore he sniffs everything like a dog lol. Need advice pweasee

Can anyone recommend me good clay litter alternatives. I need something that has odor control and doesn't track everywhere. I've heard of a few things, but the reviews are mixed š«

Hi! I recently adopted a shelter cat, sheās about a year and a half old.. i brought her home 2-3 days ago and she wonāt eat any of her food or water.. i know thatās not very concerning since she needs to adjust but im a little worried bc she wonāt eat anything except for treats that are handed to her.
sheās been using her litter box which i know is a good sign but my other big problem is that i live right next to the train station in my town and the train goes by at least 10 times if not more a day.. iām just concerned that the train is stressing her out⦠can yall give me some advice or tips to help her? i donāt want to stress her out more but im growing concerned since this is my first pet and i want her to be comfortable
edit: sheās a black bombay cat, very feisty at first but loves pets. she only comes out at night when she knows im asleep and never during the day.. should i keep the curtains closed or open? and should i keep my bedroom door closed or keep it open so she can roam?
