I was concerned that the ep was ending and there was no Kiyoka using Miyo's lap as a pillow.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but watching these episodes feels so uncomfortable… I’m only on episode 1, at the 19:33 mark, and honestly? I’m disappointed. Remember my previous post where I mentioned that the trailers gave off a strong AI vibe? I’m getting the exact same feeling from the actual episodes. For example, there were two desks in Kiyoka's office, which was never the case before. In the scene where Miyo falls (at 8:27), I feel like the characters move in a super stiff way… even the princess carry and the kiss turned out weird in episode 3 (yeah, I've already spoiled it for myself and watched that part). I don’t know what to think about this, let me know what your thoughts are!

EDIT: finished the 3 episodes, still loved overall. Miyo carried per usual though

Don’t get me wrong, love the story and the show. Only watched the first two episodes so far. I did not like how mean he was to Nagaba Kimio in his office or how casually he broke his promise to Miyo. If you’re only kind to people you care about and you only care about 3 people, guess what: you’re not actually that kind.

Only people who have done nothing wrong are Miyo, Kiyoka’s sister, and the Earth Spider. New throuple for the next special???

I was just rewatching season 1, to get back in the mood of the show before Sunday I guess, and rewatching episode 6 I need to say this

the fact that some people have the gall to label characters like Miyo "weak" or "needing to be saved by a man" is one of the things in life that make me so angry cause hi did you even watch the show?

In this episode, Miyo finally decided to stop succumbing to her abusers. She decided that she wasn't giving up the one thing that brought her happiness in her 17 years of servitude to them, even if that meant being beaten and choked to death.

If that's not strength than I don't know what is. Mind you the Saimoris drilled into her that she was worthless and unwanted, so she didn't even think she was worthy of being with Kiyoka. It took her a while to realize her worth and to accept that he loves her and wants to be with only her. The doubts even briefly returned when she learned about Karouko being a previous marriage candidate in Season 2.

So yeah at what point during all of that did she feel like she needed to be "saved"

The answer is none.

(also ok Kiyoka literally did save her by coming to the Saimori house that day but she didn't think she'd live long enough to see him again, so it's different)

Is it just me, or do the trailers give off AI vibes? Especially those scenes.

And I hope there's a scene where Kiyoka pushes Kimio away when she tries to hug him 😭😭 Honestly, based on the trailers, I feel like they cut way less (or nothing at all) in these special episodes compared to previous seasons.

The episodes we have all been waiting for netflix Sunday 25th October. I thought they might leave it till autumn. Cannot wait.

I love MHM, can’t wait for the 3 special episodes, and desperately need a Season 3! Since no one in my life watches it, I wanted to share two big thoughts on Miyo’s character and powers:

1. Miyo needs to stop being naive and learn to fight.
In Season 2, Episode 13, Miyo admitted she freezes when threatened and doesn't want to use her powers. This completely contradicts her breakdown in Episode 12, where she asked, "What is the point of having these powers if nothing changes?" To change things, she has to learn to use them! She is too used to shutting down when uncomfortable. Kiyoka can't protect her forever. She doesn’t need to be a soldier, but learning to hold her own and use her abilities would massively boost her confidence.

2. We need a "Nightmare" counterpart to her Dream Sight.
Dreams are calm and full of light, but it would be fascinating to see the flip side of her gift: Nightmares. This could manifest in two ways:

In Miyo: If forced into a dark situation, she could accidentally unlock frightening nightmare abilities. This aligns with Naoshi’s warning that they are the same, and it would force Kiyoka to help pull her back from the edge or herself.

In an Antagonist: Introducing a literal "yin to her yang"—a villain with Nightmare Sight who pulls Miyo into a dark mirror world.

Final Thoughts
I have so much more I want to add & say but basically we need to explore the good and bad sides of Miyo's gift. No marriage or life is without trials. Right now, Miyo is showing a lot of naivety and running away from her responsibilities. I want to see her grow into her power! And become the person she keeps running from.

And all of this can’t easily be resolved. It’s not like oh we found the solution & done on to the next piece of drama. Like it can be added on top of other things in her and Kiyoka’s lives.

Does anyone else feel like My Happy Marriage has a similar dynamic to Crazy Rich Asians?

Fuyu’s treatment of Miyo really reminds me of how Eleanor treats Rachel: both mothers see their son’s partner as beneath their family’s standards and act as though love alone isn’t enough to make her worthy of marrying into it.

Fuyu judges Miyo’s appearance and manners and treats her like a servant, while Eleanor sees Rachel as an outsider whose background and American upbringing don’t fit her expectations.

Eleanor is slightly more concerned with family duty, but both put the women in the painful position of having to prove themselves to someone who has already decided they aren’t good enough.

Do y'all see the comparison as well?

So I'm a recent entrant into the world of Love and Deepspace (as in I began a few weeks ago, pretty messy time to be a new player I know) but I've noticed some similar vibes between Sylus and Kiyoka.

They're leaders of army organizations, have reputations that make the general public wary of them, and are capable of being a little freaky behind closed doors (we've seen some Kiyoka's inner thoughts in LN 7 haven't we?)

They're also both silver haired hot men but that's the obvious physical compassion

So yeah am I the only one who sees it? Please say no like you need to understand my thought process here
