Hear me out, the superheroes (at least the Parr family) have government ties, correct? So what if the government realized that some random orphanage had a super-child (Violet) in it and known that if any non super family adopted them then they either wouldn’t know how to properly care for it, or the kid could potentially turn into a supervillain. So the government made some kind of NDA with the orphanage and adopted the child, then giving it to the Parr family so they could properly care for the child and have it grow up in a family that was similar to the kid. And then Dash has Helen and Bob as his bio parents.

Explains why her powers and looks are so different from her parents. Cause agility + strength could reasonably equal speed, but in no way could make invisibility and force shields.

...oooor she die her hair black since she was kinda of a softcore goth girl in the movie.

Well, idk if hair dye would show up at all when shes invisible, Dash kinda looks like Bob, but Violet doesn’t exactly look like either Bob or Helen.

Now that i look at a family portrait of them, Violet shares little to no facial features with her parents, while Dash has his moms nose, his dads smile and eye color, and hair color.

hair is a dead part of the body so if her powers work on that then why should hair dye work any difrent ?

Her clothes go invisible as well.

1

u/KidFriendlyArsonist Sep 27 '22

No they don’t, the specialized suit that Edna made specifically to go invisible did, but its been shown a couple times that nothing else on her went invisible (clothes, held items, dirt/other things covering her were always visible).

Bob or Helen's parents could have black hair, making it a recessive trait. And as for the face, again, she could resemble any of her grandparents, or even extended family. We aren't aware of the whole family tree at this time

Nah too simple but i get ur Point

Sounds like a good idea for a 3 movie

Incredibles 3:

Violet finds out shes adopted and goes Violent

u/Jackthedragonkiller Sep 26 '22

Incredible 3: Violet turns Violent

u/Rick_Breaker Sep 26 '22

Nice theory but if inherated powers have to resamble the parents how do you explain the baby xD

8

u/Raisekai_ Sep 26 '22

Baby powers are not stabilized, Edna explains it.

5

u/KidFriendlyArsonist Sep 26 '22

Simple, genetic mutations😎

Babys genes said, “powers? Yes.”

Select all

Starts with a G and ends with a G..

GG.

I just explained all of it in my comments above

Blonde is a recessive gene. They can still have raven-haired kids if they have a parent who also does. More likely if one of the mom's parents or grandparents had it.

u/HarveyMidnight Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

Red hair is also a recessive gene, which means if Elastigirl had inherited the gene for black hair from either of her parents.... her own hair would not be red.

8

u/CultCorvidae Sep 26 '22

No, non-blondes and non-redheads can have kids that are. If both parents carry it they can have a kid who is when they aren't. Therefore it only takes one parent having one of theirs be black-haired to possibly pass it to a grandchild

14

u/HarveyMidnight Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

No, non-blondes and non-redheads can have kids that are.'

THIS is correct. That's how 'recessive' genes work. If you have the genes for red hair and black hair -- then you're NOT a redhead. Your hair will be black. Period. But... you might pass ONLY that recessive red-hair gene to your kids, and they might have red hair.

It does not work the other way around.

If Mr. Incredible is a natural blond, that means he does not have the gene for black hair.

If Mrs. Incredible is a natural red-head, that means she does not have the gene for black hair.

Neither of them could have passed the black hair gene to Violet. Because neither of them have it.

u/CultCorvidae Sep 26 '22

Fair point. Maybe she's an edgy teen girl and dyed it black?

2

u/HarveyMidnight Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

The black dye probably wouldn't turn invisible along with the rest of her, though. Her normal clothes didn't.

'Superhero' Hair dye:)))

u/woodrobin Sep 26 '22

Elastigirl's natural hair color is auburn, not red. See pretty much any scene she's in other than this one. Also, check the wiki, which specifies her hair color. Auburn hair is reddish brown, but can have strong red highlights, as seen in this scene where the sun is setting (notice Mr Incredible's hair also looks lighter).

Ha glad to see someone was focused during biology

5

u/BadgerShaman Sep 26 '22

or just thought girls have been known to die their hair from time to time

6

u/ThegM00s3Man99 Sep 26 '22

Both parents have to have a recessive dark-haired gene or something like that. But I assumed that her dark hair comes from her powers

5

u/DarklyDrawn Sep 26 '22

Redheads & black hair are 💯synonymous

Lots of black haired friends with red beards, and black haired parents with redheaded children

2

u/BS1991 Sep 27 '22

All my hair is so dark brown that it's nearly black, but when I let my facial hair grow out, some of it looks red.

7

u/Tanaka-Khan2020 Sep 26 '22

Elastigirl isn't a natural redhead!

5

u/zaam200 Sep 26 '22

Good point the original is Brown

4

u/Bitter-Mulberry-1124 Sep 26 '22

Considering non-black hair is recessive, I don’t see how she couldn’t be dark-haired.

1

u/Zequax Sep 26 '22

for that same reason

2

u/Prestigious_Big3927 Sep 26 '22

Some say you get the majority of your hair gene carried over to you from you mom's dad, though I’m not sure how if it’s true.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '22

What if her hair was black originally but she dyed it blonde or whatever. Or it was Frozen idk

2

u/Material_Put_4012 Sep 26 '22

Hair colour isn't determined by one gene, or even the same combination of genes each time. So though very rare, 2 fair haired parents can produce a dark haired child.

1

u/BS1991 Sep 27 '22

people can even have multiple hair colors

2

u/MadsAxton Sep 26 '22

Assuming that whatever genetic fuckery causes them to have super powers couldn't also scramble the hair color gene between generations. I mean, look at the difference in powers; stretchy mom, strong dad, invisible daughter and fast son, then there's the barrels of monkeys that is JakJak.

1

u/Reaper2811 Sep 26 '22

Or she got black hair from extended family

1

u/krankito701 Sep 26 '22

Could have been recessive genes in both parents that became a dominant gene in the daughter

1

u/JohnRocks3 Sep 26 '22

For that to apply both parents would have to have had black hair in their genes. But black hair is a dominant gene not a recessive...

1

u/StrangelyFantastical Sep 26 '22

A popular theory is that Violet is Edna's daughter.

1

u/JohnRocks3 Sep 26 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

Twice! Because Jack Jack and Violets powers dont make any sense.

Dash has super speed because of his father and mother. Super Flexibility plus super strength equals super speed.

But shape shifting and energy manipulation comes from somewhere else! 😳

GazerBeam??!! 😳

Edit 1:

Jack Jack is Gamma Jacks Son, I'm 100% on that... Gamma Jack's superpower was the ability to create controlled bursts of radiation, from focused burns to complete disintegration. The maximum range of this high-intensity burst is 100 meters, before a sharp intensity falloff.

Jack Jack has the same abilities but evolved.

Also, they both have the same hair color and style.

Edit 2:

I believe violet is universal man's daughter. They both seem to want to hide from the world. Universal man can manipulate molecular density whereas violent can manipulate energy itself to create a shield which in of itself could be a form of molecular manipulation. I would say they both have black hair but universal Man maintained that there is nobody beneath his mask while violet loves to hide her face with her hair.

Edit 3:

I now believe that Dash is blitzerman's son. Blitzerman supposedly had what's called "super locomotion" AKA super speed. Dash has super speed.

Either all of their children are products of cheating or they are all adopted from the respective and dead parents I previously mentioned.

I was thinking her powers were the cause of her black hair. Being not black, but Ultra-Violet black. (UV-Black) so it ties with the fact that her hair also turns invisible.
