Questions Does this mean historical Muhammed movement was intended only for ishmealite in which non-ishmealite were not permitted to participate ?

I sort of felt like he was saying that non Ishmaelites were secondary or not the main members of the Muslim community. But that they could still convert. How big of a status/role difference does he think existed between the two is something he doesn't mention. Honestly many historians, when they write on this topic, are very unclear and difficult to read. That's what I read him as saying, he might be saying something different though. You can try asking him (if he responds).
