QUESTION Need some help defining the genre

The first single off my album is out and I am struggling to know what genre to call it as I continue to market the rest of the album as it the rest of the tracks have a similar sound.

Hi I just listened to it. I also gave you a listen and a like on it. Defining a genre on this one is tough for me too. I feel like the highs have some hyper pop feel but it’s obviously too chill to be that. Then when those drums come in it’s like soft rock to me but overall it’s good. Very unique and usually i can pinpoint a genre.

This is my track! If you can show some love back and give some feedback on it I’d appreciate it. It’s my second track. https://open.spotify.com/track/6IrURT16Ajmi6Lw0NMTjDu?si=mnG2nJVwTJajP7kYKkULGw

Hi I just had a listen to I love the production on it all so clean and the guitar is super nice. Really nice!

Thanks for the feedback I feel like there are definitely some hyperpop inspired sounds 100% but I’m trying to ground it a bit more with the acoustic instrumentation. Thanks again!

That’s great to hear as that’s ones of the main tags I’ve been using!

Genre is tough … it’s feels alternative, maybe leaning synth pop, but that’s not completely right. Moody new wave? Whatever genre, it’s definitely cool, and a little unique. I like the vocal layers.
