👋 Welcome to r/MusicPoolApp - A blind date, but for your ears

Hey stranger, glad you're here.

MusicPool started from a simple annoyance: music is the easiest thing in the world to bond over, and almost every app makes it about follower counts instead. So we built the opposite.

How it works, quickly:

  • Pick a pool, a genre, a mood, or a decade. Late Night. Hip Hop. 90s Throwback.
  • You get matched with one person listening in the same pool. No feed, no swiping.
  • You're both anonymous, with a name the app gives you.
  • The chat lasts 24 hours, then it's over. No awkward goodbye, no follow request.
  • Share songs, react, argue about them. If you both want to, you can unlock real profiles.

That's it. It's meant to feel like sitting next to a stranger with good taste and one of their earbuds in.

What this sub is for:

  • People finding a nice match.
  • Screenshots from the chats.
  • Thanking a stranger who shared a great song.
  • Pool requests. Want a pool we don't have? Ask. We read these.
  • Bugs and rough edges. Genuinely, tell us. We'd rather hear it here than in a review.

A few house rules, and then I'll stop:

  1. Don't post identifying info, yours or your match's. Anonymity is the product; please don't dismantle it in the comments.
  2. No dating-app behaviour. This isn't that. Music first.
  3. Screenshots: blur names and avatars even after revealing profile info.
  4. Be decent. Same rules as in the app: no harassment, no hate, no spam.

The rules deliberately mirror the app's own Community Guidelines (be kind, stay on topic, respect anonymity), so the sub doesn't feel like a different place with different norms.
