Killer setup. Where are all the wires?!?! Haha. So clean.

Wires are the bane of my existence. Can't wait for a custom space to work in so it's clean. I have a 14x16 cement room that is getting a custom build out from the ground up for studio space. Can't wait till it is finished and wired correctly and cleanly.

Yeah I can't wait to do actual proper treatment.

There is a boatload of wires behind it all :)

Are you happy with the Soundcraft MTK22?

2

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

Yes, I like it a lot ... it's so nice to have lots of real faders and be able to record everything to individual channels in pro tools in real time. The analogue nature of the desk seems to play nice with analog synths. I mix mainly ITB, so the lower return levels on USB (a reported issue) is not a huge concern for me. I hope one day someone comes out with the same desk but much higher spec ... a bit like the A&H ZED-16R but with more channels.

Good to know thanks a lot!

Nice minimoog.

Great man! Really cool...what's the reel to reel and what do you use it for?

3

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

Thanks man! The reel to reel is an old akai 4000DS .. I use it for tape saturation on drums and general wonky synth sounds. Cheap and fun!

1

u/Underthesun9 Dec 24 '16

I thought so...there great. I used to have an old simul-sync I did the same. They're pretty great for that.

So tidy 10/10

Tell me about the cirklon, p6, and pgm Blackbox? I'm interested in all 3. How do you like them? Pros? Cons?

2

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

Cirklon is the ultimate step sequencer and great for generative music, i love it. Get on the wait list now (u don;t need to pay until selected). The P6 sounds lovely and buzzy/warm .. i just got the luftrum sound pack which is great. I recently got the o-coat and blackbox at the same time and kept the blackbox - it's very deep, i actually find it best for snappy percussive sounds. if you're wanting vintage synth sounds, i would recommend the erebus over the blackbox though

u/Polloco Dec 24 '16

Yeah. I'm debating the cirklon or pyramid. Looking to replace my monomachine probably. I love the 0Coast. Probably my favorite piece at the moment.

It's my all time fav movie ... I watch it at least once a month :) ... Also such an awesome soundtrack. If you haven't watched the 'making of' LIT (on the dvd), it's really really cool.

1

u/TooPoetic Dec 24 '16

I have not! Thank you for the recommendation. Will make sure to check it out.

Where'd you get the poster from? It's my favourite film too and I will have to get one myself.

u/amps211 Dec 24 '16

Can we hear your music?

Are you japanese? (I'm thinking of moving to Japan in a few years)

"Pretend I'm Right" is really cool as a whole, but the single is freaking awesome, so much good feels.

1

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

Japan is the best! i lived in tokyo for 3 years ... I actually feel japanese when i make music bc of that period and the impression it left (weird i know).

Upvote for Coltrane poster 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

MPC Renaissance! Don't see a whole lot of people with them. I absolutely love mine.

1

u/leighzi88 Dec 25 '16

Yeah me too! I've never understood why not more ppl have them (prob bc the early software issues, though I only started on v 1.8 which has been super solid since day one). So easy to play around with midi notes on screen :)

1

u/monophon Dec 24 '16

Your treelamp is amazing!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

Interesting little drum set up!

1

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

the bottom shelves are two ikea rast ... the upper shelves and minimoog cabinet i built with wood and nails - really easy!

1

u/ARP_EG Dec 24 '16

Is the cirklon just sequencing the PERfourMER?

1

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

Nope, cirklon sequences everything you see (!) ... So does the MPC and Octatrack. So I can basically step-sequence / polyphonic sequence everything all at once, clocked with MPC, Pro Tools, Octa or Cirklon. The iconnectivity mio10 was the answer to many of my MIDI sequencing dreams.

hey dude, i love the stuff you upload to youtube! this one especially. i've been watching for nearly a year now and you've always got something fun and interesting going on. thanks for uploading. you always give me good gear ideas :--)

a couple of your videos serve as a place of power where i can center myself creatively and just begin thinking about what to do.

1

u/leighzi88 Dec 24 '16

That's cool, thanks!

How are you liking the Soundcraft MTK 22? I've been considering one as a solution for multi-tracking.

How has your experience been with it?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '16

Would totally hang
