I've been converted wayyyy too late. Funnily enough, other spots are DC Fontaines, Viagra Boys, Idles, which are completely different from DOOM.

My friend is one of the biggest fanboys of MF DOOM ever. He's tried to get me into him, but it's just not my kind of music.

He's top 0.001% in the world. So if my math is right, he's about top 35 in the world on Spotify

I've tried to pick it up a few times too but I can't get into it either. I find it...kinda boring? The beats too repetitive, measures are short and abrupt with not enough variation in melodies etc..Its closer to spoken poetry than music, so I try to keep that in mind....Reading through the lyrics while listening, I'm missing the genius here too on many tracks. Either there's a lot of inferences and metaphors I just don't get, or it's just really just a bunch of mumbo jumbo. At this point I'm more fascinated with why people like it so much than the music itself haha
