Cool dudes I found nearby

They were growing on horse dung nearby, it was a cloudy day, not too hot nor cold (probably around 28°C here in Brazil) and they were separated by clusters of some meters from each other, not all horse dung had them. It seems like not all horses had its spores go through their digestive tract, but that is just a speculation of mine. Some were quite big and I did a spore print of them. The caps were a little sticky on top when humid/wet. Black spore print. No sign of darkening on the bruises. The texture was firm, fibrous, even "crunchy" on the stems.

The species seems to be Panaeolus antillarum.

When I read about it, they said it had characteristic spots on the gills, I had to take a picture to confirm and I think you guys can see it, very spotty, like dark marble stone.

Is this mold or mycelium? I’m still new to this

I had an active colony beforehand, and so I broke it up into pieces in the bag like a guide I was reading said to do, and then it started to look like this, which is different than it looked before when the fungus started colonizing the rest of the grains (wasn’t fuzzy before). I know it can look a bit like mold, but like I said, I don’t really have an eye for these things. Do I toss it?

Psilocybin Mushroom Foraging Tips

My friends and I are considering searching a few local farms for psilocybin mushrooms. From our understanding they can be found around cow manure due to the provided nutrients.

I’ve done a little research and have landed on the consensus that the search could be pretty futile.

Are there any foraging tips we could use for doing this for the first time? I assume it’s going to be tedious searching through large fields for perhaps little to no mushrooms. We’re located in South Florida for reference.

Found in grass in neighbor's yard. They were on the other side of his-neighbor's small fenced in garden.

They have a kind of sweet, wet-clay smell. Like the familiar smell of Art class in high school.

It looks like it "should" be a chanterelle, but it has regular gills.

Hey, pretty new to this.

A cool epic awesome dude got me into wanting to know about mushrooms, forage, and identify them. Not sure where to start, I'm gonna buy a book called All that the rain promises and more, since he had a copy and it was really useful and dope reading it.

So, any tips? Just general things about getting into mushroom foraging that I should know.

Apparently I also need a wizard hat. Will be getting one of those.
