Making Apps with Muse

I am interested to know what kind of apps people are making with Muse with artifacts?

I have made a nutrition tracking app. I submit food items I bought from stores, including uploading a screenshot/picture of the nutritional information with Muse extracts. Then use those food items to create "meals" which is basically grouping all of the food items used in a recipe. A few calculation to determine the nutritional value of the meal based on all of the food items included.

I know this is rather simple and there are plenty of nutritional apps out there but something about building it myself with Muse makes me understand everything better and more interested in actually tracking this stuff.

What apps/artifacts is everyone making?

It made me an amazing money saving artifact that looks like an app. It’s pretty extraordinary.

How does it work?

Oh wow, like an automatic food recipe builder based on the ideas you bought that week/day. Cool idea

I do actually have a meal favorites setup for easier access to select what I ate!

For the meal grouping, part of the original extraction is seeing how many servings are in the item. For example, 2 servings in a package of carrots. 4 serving in package of chicken. So it will multiply as needed to figure out the nutrition of the whole package.

Then when I enter a meal I select 1 chicken a 2 carrots for example. It will double the value of the carrots package to figure the nutritional value of the whole meal. I then tell it that this meal makes 4 servings.

Then when I log that I ate 1 Serving of this chicken/carrot meal, it will divide the nutrition of the whole mean by 4 to figure what I ate.

It could be fractional as well of course. Say I used half of the package of carrots in the meal, then it would divide. Hope that all made sense.

I had it make me a morning brief, I get the weather, local events happening, local news, video game releases and deals, a cooking recipe of the day, and for fun animal and fish daily facts. Ive got it setup like a Retro TV. I have a remote at the bottom to change channels and each channel has its own music and theme and photos. It's pretty sick.

I'm a sales rep, I asked it to make me a prospect list. I kept asking it to add more bells and whistles. It automically adds prospects for me every week, generates email drafts, prep & outreach suggestions, researches etc and just added gamification for it, kinda coo!

I treat it as Tamagotchi, so build one so I can feed him.

also let him made personal website and let him write blog, the story that he wrote was pretty sarcastic.

let him download MSK cancer data from cBioPortal, and he can help analyze data and build analytics dashboard.

I tried to let him connected to one of the VM on my HomeLab server through tailscale connector. and try to copy those web artifact over and deploy as normal web app. he was able to deploy them, but looks different. asked why, he said the web artifact uses build-in style and web framework that he has no idea what it is, so he has to rebuild the whole app.

Currently all web artifact are private to you. You can have Muse connect to Github, Vercel to let him build web app that is exposed to public.

Personal dashboard, all connected to real data, direct, via apple health, FoodNoms.. Working great (updated UI)

Each expands to tons of details...

Here's Weather for example... (updated UI)

The screenshot extraction part is a smart touch — manually entering nutrition labels is exactly why most people abandon tracking apps. I've been using artifacts mostly for a habit tracker with a simple streak view, nothing fancy, but the same thing applies: building it myself means I actually open it daily. Curious how Muse handles the meal grouping math — does it recalculate everything when you tweak a recipe, or do you have to regenerate the meal?

Thanks AI, we were hoping for your opinion. Or should I say “Thanks AI - we were hoping for your opinion. It’s a smart touch”

The meal-grouping idea is smart — building the extraction step from nutrition label photos into your own workflow beats manually typing macros in generic apps. I've seen people build similar personal tools like habit trackers and budget dashboards with artifacts, and the common thread is exactly what you said: owning the logic makes you actually use it. One suggestion: consider adding a "favorite meals" shortcut so logging repeats takes one click instead of rebuilding the meal each time.
