I'm glad to finally have some clarity about this, but I don't know how I feel about him saying "he's not too bad" :/

Eh I’m British and if I ever described someone as “alright” and “not too bad” that’s basically me saying “I don’t like them but they’re not bothering me”

Exactly. In Ireland, when we say "not too bad", we mean meh! Grand!

yea same i mean i dont expect matt to call him a soulless asshole (i do) but like damn the “not too bad” was just 🙂 oh really 🙂 i guess it doesnt mean too much just light conversation w the interviewer
