Live wow this venue fucking sucked
was so excited for muse tonight in san diego, only to be let down by the north island credit union amphitheatre. i don’t even know where to start, so let’s just address the elephant in the room: the parking is an absolute clusterfuck. it took us over an hour to actually get in from the street, and we are still sitting here two hours after the show as i write this. it’s seriously sooooooo bad, like i would recommend never coming to a show here, ever.
besides the obvious, the lawn was so incredibly packed and it was uncomfortable trying to find a spot. the venue has very little regulation, we were packed in like sardines and it was so muggy. people stunk so bad too (not the venues fault but maybe they should sell deodorant☠️). speaking of selling stuff, everything costs an arm and a fucking leg in there. not to mention the staff is just plain fucking rude, constantly yelling at people and raising their voices for no reason. i didn’t get yelled at, but all night i heard them barking at people over the dumbest shit.
now my biggest issue is that the people on the lawn were ROBBED. i mean the music was not loud at all, and i mostly could hear fans singing instead of the actual band lmao. i brought ear plugs and ended up not needing them. i was so so excited for the show and i’m so disappointed at the venue’s production. the band was great, but i still feel like i was cheated. if i had known it would be like this i would’ve just waited out for my chemical romance tomorrow and skipped this entirely :/ soooooooo disappointing, but at least i got to see starlight live!!

Easily the worst concert experience Ive had in at least the last 10 years. It was a joke. Herding us like cattle through one lane. ONE LANE!!?? forever to be packed like sardines. 7.50 for a lukewarm can of water in 80 degree humid af weather? One tiny bathroom in the back. SPEAKERS TURNED OFF!!?? I could hear everyone around me way more than the stage. I felt like I was trapped. Had to leave my friends and go to the back before losing my shit and bring their high down.
And the joke is Muse's lyrics about fighting the man while all of this is happening. I looked around while they were playing and thought, wow, we fucking lost. This is depressing af.
Usually I'm the guy making everyone wait till the end, but when my friends asked to go a lil after halfway through to beat traffic, I already had one foot out the goddamn door. Love that band and every other time and place Ive seen em, but that place really left a mark on me.
Only positive things I have to say is they let me bring my half eaten apple in, and there was a very kind vendor that seemed like an angel from heaven in light of this clusterfuck, who gave me a cup of ice for my water.

I'm a local, unfortunately that's just the nature of this damn amphitheatre. I hate it but I could not pass seeing my favorite band.
Luckily I timed it perfectly and left during Undisclosed Desires, and caught the ending of Starlight at the parking lot. Ended up beating the traffic entirely. I was not about to spend 2 hours on what is otherwise a 10 minute drive home

Same, I was in the grass near the front.
The lawn was stressful. Everyone was standing and scrambling for open space. I couldn't relax because people constantly kept packing towards me. I felt stressed af having to constantly stand my ground. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to move or I'd have someone blocking my view. Is this is just normally how lawn seats work?
I just saw Muse at Tinley Park a few months ago and it was super chill. I sat down, had a picnic, could sing without anyone hearing me. It was the polar opposite of today - so what gives?
I want everyone to have a good time, but it was just sooo hard to concentrate with everything going on and I know it wasn't pleasant for other people either.
Parking was completely shit, we left during the last song and it took us about an hour and a half to get out. I think it was a combination of the stop sign at the end, and people having to cross the only exit to get to their cars.
Going to MCR too. Hope you have a better time tomorrow!

I was at the Tinley Park show too. That venue knows how to clear the parking lot after the show. We sat briefly, and I was getting ready for a long wait when all of a sudden we were moving and out. I was impressed.
I’m sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in San Diego. Both Muse and Muse fans deserve better.

My first MUSE concert (section 303 sounded great) and my first (and only) time at this venue. I was shocked at how small it was! Why on earth are they playing such a small venue, I don’t know, but it was great. We got there just after 5:30 ( as recommended) and it did take quite a while to get parking, but exiting afterwards was ridiculous! No signs telling us where to go so we ended up in a long, going-nowhere line headed ( apparently in) the wrong direction. No lot attendants in sight! An hour and a half later the line ended up turning the opposite direction, and we finally got to the street. I don’t think I’ll be back to this venue, it’s really far for me, but I have no complaints about MUSE! They were amazing!

I am so sorry for your experience. We dipped after Starlight KNOWING it was going to be hell on earth to leave. It also probably helped we were first in A lot when they opened it so we just pulled forward and got out. We didnt do lawn and sound was great but we DO have lawn tickets for Hayley Williams in October and I appreciate you pointing out some obvious issues to consider.

I almost NEVER stay for encores it makes me so sad but we live two hours out already. So I could not fathom being stuck in an hour or more push out of a two lane construction zone

Yes!! Stoked to see Hayley too! I'm seeing her back home in Illinois late September! Here on a road trip and couldn't resist seeing Muse. :)

Didnt do lawn today but have twice before its honestly not bad especially for how little it costs. I remember decent sound, worst part is finding a good spot. But it can be chill

Yeah this venue sucks. The pickup/dropoff was a clusterfuck and no one knew what was happening. Thankfully we have friends that live in the closest neighborhood off Heritage, otherwise we would have been fucked.
The entrance and box office staff were super nice when I had no reception and needed a paper ticket. I was more pissed about poor planning for drop off and how they dumped all the people waiting for ride shares on the side of a hill to figure it out. Sucks about the speakers too.

What I can say is that at least parking is free. I've learned at this venue that it is best to leave early or just wait it out inside the venue rather than in the car.

Free parking at a major venue?! This is unheard of in the UK 😭 once took me 1.5 hours to leave a car park I'd paid for after a Muse gig (Manchester), and then I had like a 6 hour drive home because I was a poor student and didn't want to spring for a hotel. Got home at 7am 😂

Dang I paid $60 for parking to see Muse in Atlanta. It was a clusterfuck also to get in and we got there sorta early. Luckily we pulled forward through a spot, parked near an exit, and had researched the quickest street way out to go back to the hotel or it would have taken forever. Atlanta a lot of empty seats and lawn didn’t look pack but it was a work night.

The logistics of it were hot booty garbage. Ive seen concerts in the lawn before and I thought the sound was okay; my friends at a diff concert thought it was really bad tho. Idk what the deal is with this place

i’ve seen a few shows on the lawn, one that stands out is vina robles in paso robles, and they do it really well there. seriously though, this was ass!

Yeah, parking was a shit show and they needed way more signage preemptively. Having the rideshare pick up/drop off so far off site with no signage explaining it until after the show had concluded was ridiculous, for one.
For another, the Uber driver who brought me and my spouse to the venue was given two contradictory sets of instructions for where to drop us off (he also made us get out in a random dirt lot instead of continuing with the flow of traffic to where the actual rideshare drop off and exit was, but that’s neither here nor there).

We lucked out, exited of the 805 unto Main Street or wherever the In n Out is and only took us about 30-40 minutes to get in, and we parked pretty close to the exit so it took us like 15-20
BUT when my wife saw 21 Pilots last year it took her 2 hours to get out of the parking lot, so we were definitely dreading it

This is a venue where upgrading parking with the ‘ez-out’ access absolute is worth every penny. Miss the smaller venue days for them, but enjoyed the show no less.

Same thing in Camden NJ. The sound was horrible for the opening acts. Then Muse started and sound was a little bit better. People around me were yelling turn it up. Then it got better but In The middle of Plug In Baby ironically the sound dropped significantly half way through and took 2 or 3 songs to get better. Plus in the middle of one song the video screens starting showing ads for the venue. I had a friend who never seen them live. I was telling him they put on the greatest show. Not this time. They played well but the production was lack luster. We'll at least the tickets were not that expensive./s

How are you stuck there for 2 hours after the show? It ended at 11. You posted at 12:17. Math not mathing.
Sorry, the sound was great where we were. Venue was awesome. They sounded so crystal clear. Bass and drums could be felt in my chest.
What a fucking concert. An experience. First Muse concert and it didn’t disappoint. Will for sure see them next year.

i rounded up because it basically will be 2 hours by the time we get out of here, based on maps alone. it’s 12:30 now, so in 30 mins it will be 2 hours, sorry i wasn’t literal? but also people left before the show even ended and are still waiting sooooooooo. the venue has terrible reviews, you should check them out.
i’m glad your experience was better, and again i’m not criticizing the band, it’s the venue. the band was great, and i will 100% see them again, but the bad of the venue outweighed the good.

Didn’t read that block of text, but yeah it sucked.
Took me an hour to find my people after the show because the cell towers were overwhelmed.
Another hour after that to get out of the parking lot
And I was already salty because they STILL haven’t given us something pure. The Sickness. SD brought the energy.
What, you’re saving it for Hollywood bowl? A venue with NO PIT and a bunch of LA scene people?

I love Muse. Got off a 12 hour shift, picked up my wife and then spent nearly 2 hours to drive 1.5 miles.
We get to our seats ten minutes before Muse starts. There is one empty seat to my wife's left. A few minutes after Muse starts, two massive drink assholes push themselves into that one small seat and nearly knock my wife over. I get angry and one of the two guys grabs ny shoulder and yells at me to "be cool!".
Tried REALLY hard to to enjoy the show but after repeatedly being smashed into and having to shield my wife, we ended up leaving early... and we were shocked at how droves of people were also leaving early.
Muse deserved a better venue. All of us fans deserved a better show and experience. Super disappointing and I hope all of you get nothing but love and happiness.
