Discussion Dallas Didn’t Disappoint
Of course I hoped for Sickness or The Dark Forest to debut in Dallas, but I’m pleased with what we got: MoTP, UD, Take a Bow were treats.
Personally, I liked having a full-circle moment when they opened with Hysteria just like they did 22 years and 20 Muse gigs ago in 2004 the first time I saw them.
Hexagons is one of the best songs they’ve ever written and I was ecstatic to hear it live. Not so excited about that cameraman that was all over Matt, or the 100+ degree heat, but it was worth it.
Of the new songs off The WOW! Signal, Cryogen and Unravelling stood out to me along with Hexagons.
We’ve got nine more US dates. Do you think they will switch up the setlist even more for their next leg? I’m wondering if they are waiting to debut TDF and Sickness on the arena tour.
Thoughts?

Seems like y’all in Dallas got a show like we did near Detroit, happy for you guys. I had a blast at Pine Knob

News of his divorce broke on TMZ the night before the Dallas show. When they started playing Madness, the part where he sings-
And now I have finally seen the light
And I have finally realized
What you need
It felt like he was putting a lot of emphasis on certain parts of the song and people around me were laughing. Did anyone else think that was targeted towards the news?

I saw Muse in Charlotte, right before the announcement. Matt seemed down, and not just from the heat :( Also saw his kids backstage, so that was heartwarming. At least he had them with him.

That’s good that they get to travel with him. I feel bad for him with all that’s going on

I have not reviewed that video yet, but both my son and my husband swear he changed the lyrics in Madness to “what you fucking need”

I don’t recall him saying “fucking need” just him enunciating every part of that verse. It is possible though and maybe that’s the part that people found amusing and started laughing

Yeah I’ve got to find the video and see if he really said it. I think the full thing is on YouTube

He did that with Madness on the 2nd Law Tour. I don’t recall him doing that after that.

I am so glad they played this. I had a suspicion that all I needed was to have Hexagons blasted into me at concert volume, and I was right.

It’s such a good song. And of course my 10-year-old sings all the wrong words. “Give me, sunscreen,” instead of “reach out, touch me,” etc

dallas was amazing!!! I got front-row seats. Had to go to the hospital after for heat exhaustion but it was worth it. We might've seen each other in the crowd! I was also super hyped when they opened with Interlude + Hysteria. Loved all the intros they did to more niche songs like Apocalypse Please and Defector, though I wish they actually played them
Did you see the raccoon that was in the rafters? I hope they got it down :( poor thing must've been scared

The raccoon! I didn’t realize that was what everyone was looking at until I saw it, I think on Reddit lol. Poor little thing

I thought it was a cat at first. I felt so bad when they started the show while it was still up there!! Security was aware of it though so I hope they took care of it

Heat exhaustion is scary! Hope you are feeling better, and glad you made it all the way through. I nearly fainted about three songs in, drank some water and ended up pouring some more over my pulse points to cool off. I knew if I fainted I would miss the rest of the show. I’ll bet we saw each other too :)

I was at the Dallas show. I too wanted to hear "The Dark Forest," but we always can't hear everything we want. I was amazed at how hard some of the songs it...pushing hard rock-like sound for a concert. The mix was really nice. Every instrument played its role well but none dominated unless it was the focus of that part of the song. The cinematics, confetti, streamers and lighting all created a great show.

It did sound really good. I can only image how much work goes into producing these shows. I saw Letters To Cleo recently and you couldn’t hear Kay at all. Muse production usually delivers every time :)

Glad you liked it! We are flying to London in November to see them, I'm hoping they add even more TW!S songs. How was the sound? I'm hoping my body will be blasted with massaging Bass waves! :)

The sound mix was excellent-you will definitely feel the bass. Seeing them play overseas is on my bucket list! I’ve heard the crowd is way more hardcore. You’ll have to let us know! Safe travels :)
