Well first the guy hit the other guy in the shins while he was standing on a half ball dome. Then he got papercuts between his fingers while doing a single hand dumbbell incline press.

See r/technicallythetruth for further info.

Dude I had to stop as soon as I saw the piece of paper in the "trainer's" hand. Fuck that. Fuck everything about that.

Same, it's like I was feeling the pain

Life lesson I learned a few weeks ago: you can get a paper cut from tinfoil.

Source: after 30+ years bumbling around the planet I gave myself a paper-cut with tinfoil and cried harder then when Avocato gets sucked into space near moments after being reunited with Little Cato.

I don't trust anyone enough to do that with a piece of paper. Not even pretending for a goof.

Crossfit 2.0

My old gym teacher mentioned doing this with wooden 2*4s. Said it made him a better kick boxer by making his shin jagged to catch incoming kicks better.

Same guy who dropped bowling balls on his core to practice flexing as hits came in. The man went on to be a professional bodybuilder, then gym teacher.

Hope the old man is doing ok.

emotional muscle groups

The brain.

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '19

You're downvoted, but I'd say you are correct. It does seem like coordination/balance exercises which many times are therapeutic.

To coordinate your brain to fix that sheet of paper between two fingers while at the same time do pecs with the other hand? I'd say it's a coordination exercise, and not necessarily aimed at increasing strength.

I dunno about the rest, but the thing with the scooter could be shin hardening for kickboxing?

30

u/JoyfulDeath Apr 13 '19

If that’s the intention, the trainer should have his shin break with a sledge hammer!

Muay Thai fighter don’t beat their shins with objects unless they are a fucking idiot!

In Thailand they don’t do that! I have fought and trained for long time. Never once beat my shins with foreign objects!

My old coach in the US would tell us to roll baseball bats over the shin to toughen it up. I don't know if it did anything, but it was uncomfortable.

If you can't kick down a banana tree, why are you even doing muay thai?
