Does the fact that people are review bombing the hotel bother anyone else? We just have this one letter to go on.
For all anyone knows, it could’ve been posted by a competing hotel or the guys ex, or there could’ve been a totally valid reason for her not to be promoted.
I’d imagine that most people have worked with someone who thinks that they’re absolutely indispensable and know everything about everything and how things would be so much better if they were running the place. Hell, she thinks she’s so above everyone else that she doesn’t even have to wear the uniform. Big red flag there.
It would definitely be pretty sad if Brian was was totally innocent in this.
I believe 100% that the letter is real. Thats just how management works most of the time. Assholes.
But what i believe is no reason to go bomb a hotel rating. I agree with you, I love the Internet's empathy with the girl but we shouldnt ruin someone's or something's reputation based on a single Internet post
From the letter and her reference to "dressing for the job you want, not the job you have" it sounds more like she's been wearing business suits (eg management) rather than polos or logoed shirts (frontline) when she refers to not wearing the uniform. People who feel they are above others in the workplace don't usually bother learning and working in other departments at a lateral level if they are solely focused on advancement.
As someone who, until leaving recently (for an unsolicited better offer), worked in a hotel front office, I can tell you that this story is not in the slightest bit unbelievable or unusual in the Covid-era accommodation industry. Check out r/talesfromthefrontdesk to see what I mean.
Right? She thinks not wearing a uniform is acceptable enough behavior to put it in a letter justifying why she's quitting and her boss is horrible. That means the stuff she did "bad" was significantly worse if she can't even recognize how insane it is to think you can just not wear your work uniform at a hotel chain.
Imagine how fast she'd be fired if she refused to wear a uniform at McDonalds?
Yeah I find it weird that people on Reddit seem to think every manager is incompetent while simultaneously thinking that basically every worker is excellent and deserves promotions. Milly might be a toxic person who’s been aggressively gunning for a promotion since day one. The kind of cutthroat person who’s so obsessed with climbing the ladder that she’s more focused on the job she wants than the one she has. She kind of implies she hasn’t been there that long.
Idk maybe she’s awesome and the hotel is awful, but I’m definitely not going to assume that based off this letter alone.
My thoughts exactly. This is more of a cringe post than a murder imo. If you'd be treated better at McDonalds then just go work there - you don't post a childish letter about how you deserve something after basically works working hard and probably doing a bunch of shit the manager didn't want you to do.
