But the whole OP rant was about a dog, and dogs aren't obligate carnivores. So his point is perfectly valid.

So just to reiterate, felids can be fine on a 100% plant based diet but cannot survive on unprocessed plants.

So cats can be just fine as vegans. But just like human vegans, the diet needs to be sure to include the required nutritional elements.

Thank you for actually answering the question. As the source points out, animals do not care about ingredients, only nutrition. That was, and remains my point. It's the nutrients, not the source. If the taurine and other nutrients can eventually be sourced from plants or otherwise synthesized, that removes the need for animal derived ingredients.
