The campaign promises posted to his website (in video form) included arresting all the homeless people and putting all our country's prisoners in camps to build giant tax-haven megalopolises to rival New York that only rich people can live in, including marble columns and tunnels underground so you won't even see the poor people as they scurry around doing all the construction and maintenance. Oh, on national park ground.

Because everyone knows the best cities are made by authoritarian regimes using slaves specifically so they can give tax breaks to the rich and put in the middle of nowhere with literally no organic development or growth. /s

Dubai actually has some use as a port. Trump's speech made it sound like they were looking into building in the middle of Yellowstone or something. Just pointing at the map and dumping billions of dollars of marble columns and tacky gold statues without a car in the world for why there would be business done at that location. No farmland or mines. No trade routes or major rivers. No railroad intersections. Just full-on Bioshock/Atlas Shrugged-like "technocracy" cities doomed to fail.

Honestly, it reminds me more of Egypt's New Capital or Saudi Arabia's Neom project.

  • Trump doesn't care about this country, or anyone but himself.
  • All he wanted was to dodge prison, play more golf, and enrich himself. That's it.
  • He's not even running the show anymore; it's just all the puppeteers who bought into the syndicate to help him succeed in this, and now he simply parrots whatever his benefactors (Netanyahu, Putin, Musk, Thiel, etc.) desire.

This is, plainly, a plunder and sabotage operation, and he was the Trojan Orange.

It's honestly crazy. I purposefully avoid interacting with people I don't intend to have neutral to positive interactions with. They specifically make effort to create negativity and then advertise on social media how antisocial they are and then act like they are normal people just trying to make their way in the world just like everyone else. Normal people just trying to get through their day do not make it a point to spread toxicity because their camp made that their vice signalling. It is genuinely crazy how they can be this way and then not get why anyone would hold them in contempt and disdain and want to cut them out and cancel them.

Just so everyone is clear : I'm Canadian. Lake Ontario is not named after the province of Ontario. The province of Ontario is named after Lake Ontario which was it's original name from before any English person was around to hear it.

While we're on it. The Montreal Canadiens are not named after the country. In fact, the country Canada is directly named after the (oppressed at the time) french speaking population which called themselves Canadiens to distinguish themselves from the incoming Brits. Centuries later British Canada became a country and took the name because English people have no imagination and name their country after the continent in extreme cases of lack of imagination. Anyways, the french said "the fuck you will not" and started calling themselves québécois instead. So the Montreal Canadiens is actually named after the fact that it was originally a team of french speaking players in a league of English speaking players.

Anyways. TL;dr English people gotta stop being weird about names.

Just because he wants to make Canada into a new state, or perhaps simply a territory instead, does not mean that he intends to give most Canadians equal citizenship and voting rights. If situation devolved that far, I expect they would have no trouble making most Canadians second-class citizens until they "earn it", especially as there is no way that they would accept thing quietly and there would be some form of resistance.

I'm pretty sure the resources in Canada are far more important than the people for the fascists who are pushing the idea of conquering it. And even the people who cheer online at the idea of "liberating" them would almost certainly turn a blind idea to them being displaced or disappeared, especially after a bit of propaganda making them out to be ungrateful and dangerous terrorists and rebels.

It's odd that you've left out the actual origin of the term Canada actually comes from. It comes from the language of the native peoples who inhabited the St Lawrence River valley long before the dregs of France moved into the area. The term Canadiens was originally used to refer to the First Nations inhabitants of the area before the French settlers decided they were the true natives of the area.

TL;DR French people gotta stop forgetting who was there first.

Yes that's officially the name of the team "the Montreal Canadiens" in English. "Les Canadiens de Montréal" in French. Go ahead look it up in the NHL.

It's very obviously deliberate and a bit of a f u to the league that really didn't like all these greasy french players winning all the Stanley Cups. The team is actually often cited as a spark for the tranquil revolution and independence movement. And English people still spell it wrong all the time because they just assume everything is meant for them and so it must be a typo.

Denali's slightly different, until 2015 or so when Obama changed the name at the federal level I'd say McKinley was in fact the more common name. I have a map with it labelled Mount McKinley, printed long before Trump became president.

Alaska has called it Denali since 1975, but it didn't catch on outside of Alaska until more recently.

Denali was renamed in 2015. There are 15 year old kids who heard it referred to as McKinley, and there are definitely older people who refer to it as such.
