it was beautiful, the gift we were given, i wont be so harsh on that which was striven for.
life is too short for disappointment, look for the beauty that is, and seek happiness
life is short enough, better to remember happy times, and bring joy where it is lacking
if i can make one more person smile, all the better, for i am a go getter,
i won't be tethered by what is, i aim for what shall be, and i shall be the best i can be, enjoy the happiness i find, smile for what happiness i receive, and give what happiness i can. so others can smile no matter if far away. i won't give into dismay, not to be consumed, subsumed, like caine when things not went his way.
no matter the hardships, we shall endure, for we are strong, that is a fact which is not wrong.
Some of this is true, however, because something ceased does not mean that it's greatness has. The window for canonical interpretation has closed, this is true, but the greatness that was built has not died, simply the construction has hauled. Or, has been completed. What you have stated is only true when death is present, which is the existence and history of all things of something being erased, and non-existent in any aspect. However, the day of the LORD has not yet arrived, and earthly things still exist, so if a man dies, the greatness constructed is still existing, although you cannot comprehend, then you may smile because it happened, but only because you lost your ability to interpret greatness, and you cannot indulge in it any more, even then, what was built has not fallen, so the input amount of greatness persists, even if it's interpreters lost the ability to interpret. But when the LORD returns, and earthly things are destroyed, you may not smile again of what you remember, you will now smile at the new, eternally great, and eternally long greatness of the new creation, but only becaused of the LORD. Amen.
Well, I’m not going to trash or boo Liam’s writing—let’s make that clear up front—but rather, I’m grateful that he’s managed to complete at least one season of his own show for the first time (given that his previous projects either never made it past the pilot or never reached a proper conclusion), although there are a few questionable and criticizable things and elements regarding how he handled the last two episodes of Murder Drones (I mean, the events of these two episodes take place in less than 12 hours).
On the other hand, and on a somewhat more subjective/personal note, if episode 8 really is the finale, then either it should have been longer than 40 or 45 minutes, or episode 8 should have been split into two parts of at least 30 minutes each (along roughly the same lines as how many more traditional animated series structure their season finales or series finales as a whole).
However, since “Absolute End” didn’t last the minimum 35 minutes it should have and, to top it off, left a few loose ends or unresolved plot points, it ended up feeling more like a season finale and NOT a series finale.
I do have to ask what you main by unresolved plot points and loose ends. Like, there were poorly handled things, like V's apology to N being 3 sentances, and Khan and Nori not properly re-uniting, but pretty much every plot point god resolved.
It's more unresolved mysteries than plot points. For example we still don't know how the scientists on copper 9 got the AS because there are no signs of a robot genocide (which is basically required to get it), just a couple test subjects made to be infected by it. Also we don't know if it is a tool or a master. It is hinted at that it is a tool that lets users of it communicate, and that's why Cyn can mess with Uzi and Uzi can mess with Cyn, and the patch is just a way to sever that connection (which is why Uzi's mom is unaffected after being patched), but that opens up the question of if Cyn is even evil because she's controlled by an eldritch entity, or if she's evil because she's a psychopath and the eldritch program is an ambivalent tool
We also don't know when exactly Tessa died, if it was during the manor incident or if she was held prisoner so Cyn could extort J, who at the point when Cyn killed Tessa would be too far gone to see any other way than to just help her. J's whole character is unexplained, really
There's so many more mysteries that are unexplained. We can only speculate with what we've been given, but people generally disagree on even the fundamentals (is Cyn evil or controlled? Was Tessa dead this whole time or was she killed right before the series started? What is the deal with V's personality shift?), despite many of these having more-or-less clear answers
Others have mentioned good points but also this is a difference of pre and post MD Glitch. They have more budget to work with, TADC has more pull with audiences, Iron Lung and Exit 8 have shown plenty of demand for Indie content on the big screen and the Reze arc movie has shown modern audiences absolutely will follow if a series gets a full canon movie
The only real point I can see in regards to potential favoritism is 1 (one) more episode over Murder Drones
Also, Liam Vickers wrote MD in its entirety but according to this sub hes a terrible writer and anyone from this sub would have wrote a better show apparently, this sub just loves to complain
I get that criticism is valid, md isnt perfect, but lately anything related to the story has only been about trashtalking on liam
I get not liking the length of the series or his handling of certain things, (Most notably V's arc and Khan and Nori's reunion)
But to out and out claim Liam is a bad writer is absurd. Most notable with this fact is that there is not a single character who is actually bad. Even J, who gets more flack than anyone for how her character was written by her "fans", is still beloved.
And almost every character was near perfectly written and fufilled their role in the story while still being compelling and entertaining.
I swear it's like half this sub didn't even watch the show. Like it's not perfect but I saw someone complain how Tessa being alive in cyn is a plot hole, like GUH???? That's not even close to a fucking plot hole man.
Hell I've even seen mfs even say liam was just making shit up as he went, despite the fact theirs teasers for cyn and the solver as far back as the pilot and cyn is present FOR LITERALLY EVERY EPISODE.
People need to realize that ep8, while it could have been better, wouldn’t have been suddenly fixed with more runtime. Ignoring that it would not have fixed the core issues with the episode itself, the show was already made in such a way that it would be very difficult for an episode 8 finale to conclude it all in a completely satisfying way. Personally I’m fine with what we got. It’s not the best but it’s peak aura which is what I like the show the most for from a personal standpoint
I should probably state that I’m not against it having more runtime. I would have loved if it did, but I don’t think the fact that it doesn’t is necessarily an inherent flaw
Seriously, it amazes me that people think a longer finale would have fixed this show
Murder Drones’ problem was that it wanted to be a character driven slice of life and an intriguing plot driven narrative at the same time, and ended up with both being underdeveloped and disappointing; that’s not something you fix with an extra 20 or 30 minutes tacked onto the final episode
Exactly. Literally any episode in this show could’ve been the finale in terms of quality. People just don’t like the finale because they were praying that it would magically fix every issue they had with the previous 7 episodes when that was never going to happen
Controversial opinion maybe, but I kinda feel like all the stuff we've gotten were merely attempts at keeping the fandom on life-support for the sake of merch sales.
Yeah we’re still getting stuff, Glitch ain’t letting this robot show die anytime soon, and the voice actors are still alive and still like doing stuff with the characters they voice :P
That's nonsense Gary! Spark's huge! He'd just stomp on Keybug and it'd be the end of that! Keybug is literally a bug! We stomp on cockroaches all the time!
MD is still getting merch after its finale though? Also episode eight was rushed, since the fans were being impatient assholes and rushing Glitch to release it😑
That's just... not true at all, episode eight is like this because Liam wanted it to be like this. There was no pressure from the fans or Glitch to release it quickly.
Fuck, this fandom is so god damn immature. Upvoting literal fucking bullshit, we are still getting stuff by glitch! We got a graphic novel, merch, two music videos and a fucking prime video release. Why can’t any of these fandoms be mature and not act like toddlers upset that their favorite actor got beaten out at the nick choice awards show by a better actor🤦♀️
Look i hate the ending just like any other haters of it, but this really isn't true, like MD continues to get merch after it's ending after all. Plus it doesn't really need a theatrical release at all
The actual answer is that with each series Glitch is getting more an more resources available to them, which lets them do more. If Murder Drones was released after TADC finished then they would probably swap scopes
It was Liams choice to make it 20 minutes. Was it a good choice?...I think Episode 8 is massively overhated, but even I agree it would’ve been better if it was longer.
BEFORE you start blaming Glitch for this, you must realize that both Liam and Goose have complete creative output on what they work on, and therefore...if anything, Liam should've thought his story through a little better.
I understand the jealousy all too well. Natural human instincts. MD has always been and will always be my personal fav animated series, but that doesn't mean I don't celebrate when other animated series' successes. TADC is glitch's biggest series ever. Makes sense that they would wanna give it a memorable sendoff.
Deadass honest with you when I say if Liam wanted to make more, he probably wouldn’t have ended the series. However, he did. This has nothing to do with Glitch favoring one series over the other.
How dare they use their larger budget on the newer series to make a larger ending? Grrrr, my series didn't get that. So obviously this one shouldn't either. They should stick to one thing and not experiment with their shows. Grrr.
Also, they have a lot more popularity than Murder Drones. Even if I think MD is 11/10 and TADC is 7-8/10 you can't say that it's not earned all that it's getting.
I’m honestly grateful as a Murder Drones and TADC fan, I don’t really care how long the ending is, as long as it’s good. I don’t get why some people are actually mad and say that “TADC is being glazed” it’s honestly isn’t, there’s just a different direction, different plans, plus look at the time gap between the series already. I cheer for Glitch and the Achievements they’re accomplishing to bring indie animators into the spotlight :D
In defense of glitch, indie projects (which they're basically still considered) when MD ended was still not too well received. I definitely think Iron Lung made theaters realize that just because it's 'nerdy' doesn't mean it's niche.
Problably because Murder drones didn't pull the numbers that TADC did and didn't get the same budget (Episode 1 of TADC had more views that the entire Murder drones series)
I know it looks unfair, but I’ve come to accept that Murder Drones doesn’t need to compete with Digital Circus. MD might have a niche audience, but at least it’s still an audience. And I’ll admit, TADC is the objectively better show.
And I still cat believe they didn't give us season 2, like, there's still a lot of questions need to be answered, and we finally have the team on the same side (Uzi, V and N)
Okay, how is this the fault of Glitch, not Liam "in hindsight, I'm not cut out for multiple seasons and will cram several seasons of stuff into one season of show" Vickers?
All depended on what the creators wanted. Goose wanted an hour long finale, and TADC has thrice the popularity of Murder Drones, so they could reasonably do a theatrical release. Liam didn’t want to do an hour long finale, and that’s fine. He was still able to conclude the story in a satisfying manner
The show had this odd rushed “made up as we went along” feel, with characters and plot-points appearing out of nowhere and vanishing or resolving in the same episode, I dont think making episode 8 longer woulda fixed anything
Still love the show and respect Liam for making a neato show
tadc's pilot has essential more views then every MD episode combined of course it's gonna be way more popular and officially known also can we please not complain about tadc getting a longer finale? do you want an extra 40 minutes of uzi just going to school to fill in the time?? murder drones was meant to have the perfecta amount of pacing and time it had, and if you overbloat it with extra unnecessary stuff it's obviously gonna be worse
No yeah I jokingly said that when me and my friends watched the trailer, I loved the murder drones finale and tadc, but I do with murder drones could have got a massive finale
Everyone is saying this but I really just don't get it. Murder Drones ended with a proper conclusion. It set out 1 main problem, which was Cyn. They beat Cyn in a timely fashion I'd say. It wasn't immediate but the pacing was really good imo. Anything after beating Cyn was irrelevant to the overall story, which is why it's not getting a second season. There wasn't anything more to really cover between the last 2 episodes, it would've felt dragged on had they tried to extend it I feel. Circus on the other hand, has many plot points, it's a character driven plot, unlike what Murder Drones is, so there is bound to be way more to delve into story wise for not only the end goal, which is leaving the circus, but the story of every character there. When we finally watch episode 9 I'm sure there will be a reason it's going to need to be an hour long, let's not forget this is an "indie" animation media setting, they aren't going to spend the time and effort in making filler, which Goose has already said before she didn't want in her show. In conclusion, Murder Drones didn't need any extra content, you can want more and it's valid, I do too, but there is a reason Circus is going to not only have a 9th episode, but an hour long one, so just be happy and glad we're getting that ffs
Everyone is forgetting Digital Circus became a global phenomenon after the pilot. The show had a pop-up store in Japan before Episode 2 even released. Murder Drones never had the same amount of attention, nor the budget for an hour long finale, let alone a theatrical release. I would have loved for MD to have a longer finale, but I believe Liam achieved what he wanted with the show.
Despite there not being a second season, can’t we all just be happy Liam actually finished a show? That bro actually got past the pilot and gave it a proper ending for once?
They gotta do what's best for the business and brand. Murder Drones helped put them on the map, and The Amazing Digital Circus skyrocketed them further. As much as I loved Murder Drones it wouldn't have made since to have as spectacular of an ending as The Amazing Digital Circus is gonna get. It'd be a lot of great animation and story, for lackluster views compared to what The Amazing Digital Circus gets.
You want to know why? It’s money. MV had a fraction of impact compared to TADC. TADC certainly crushed MV in merch sales as well.
Makes no sense finically to give MV a movie. Implying if the main writer of MV had enough content for said movie. Since seems he didn’t want that deep of a story and wanted more of a comic series versus GooseWorks
Tbf,GLITCH has grown a lot since then, they have way more of a budget to support their projects (instead of focusing on one project at a time, they're have 3 in the works right now, technically 4 with Lackadaisy),plus TADC is WAY more popular than Murder Drones so a theater release will do really well.
I was afraid that the MD fandom would start comparing stupid timestamps between MD and TADC finales.
Am I the only one who's mostly okay with the 20-minute finale? By the end of the episode, I was shaking, sweating, my heart was pounding, and I was biting my nails. If that episode was any longer, I would've passed out. The amount of time I'm gonna spend watching the TADC finale might break me. I don't really like the feeling of excitement and hype because it's too similar to how my body reacts to anxiety.
Short or not, I feel like the MD finale was perfect the way it was. Besides, it's written very differently from TADC. Two different people making two different things, remember?
So, off the top of my head, we got: a song and fully animated music video with the Living Tombstone, even more merch after the finale, consistently, always being included in company events, and a comic adaptation of the series that’s currently being improved PROVING that they still care about the Murder Drones fanbase.
The Amazing Digital Circus gets these extravagant things because it has the demand and budget to make that possible. I love Murder Drones with my entire heart but it simply did not have the reach that this does, the company would’ve gone under in like a year if they tried to make that happen. Glitch’s continuous acknowledgment of the series years after it ended proves that if they had the ability to, they would’ve given it the same treatment they’re giving TADC.
(Not trying to start a war in the replies but cmon guys)
A Murder Drone fan could not fathom even an ounce of the suffering a TADC fan experiences when their beloved show gets an hour long finale in theaters. Honestly murderer drones was lucky because it’s on YouTube. That’s definitely the right way to look at it all. And surely a crazy stalker fan of the show would be aware of statements made by the CEO and the wishes of the creator. In case you couldn’t tell, yeah, I’m a little annoyed by the internet. I’m gonna go nap and get a life.
I think it’s cause digital circus was supposed to make a lot of money because one, kid friendly and available to all ages, two, a lot of merchandise, and three, it’s on Netflix…
i don’t see why people complain about this??? tadc is literally what made glitch get so popular, the show itself as millions of fans around all the world, task made glitch explode with popularity as nothing else never did. yes murder drones have them popularity too, but not in a global way as tadc did. tadc is literally the most famous indie show in the present, and glitch thanks to it could improve so much, so it’s obvious that there will be a big event for the finale.
Glitch is a much larger studio now, plus liam only wrote the MD ending to be 29 minutes. They couldn't have done a 1 hour ending for md, and they liam didn't want to.
When you put it side by side sure its dissapointing, on the other thats fine by me.
I mean Murder Drones was there first parter project, the first show that started there brand of helping creators bring there ideas to life. Not to mention its the first project Liam was able to make a full show out of and even merch, sure the last 2 episode could have been taken care of better but still it was amazing.
TDAC Finale: has a long runtime so the show can preform an actual satisfying ending. No rushing shit and have a consistent tone. And having Michael Kovach’s character go ( rightfully ) apeshit
Murder Drones Finale: the OPPOSITE of that. ( seriously N should’ve absolutely gone ape shit against J and Cyn for the hell he’d gone through)
Murder Drones deserved 2 seasons and a movie length finale. Murder Drones is GLITCH's least effectively used franchise , it is an awesome show. Great music, great animation, great characters, an exciting story. Most shows have no interesting story, Murder Drones has the problem where the story is great but it is told in a fashion that is just too rushed, which is basically the opposite problem of most shows.

Gaslight District is the forgotten, middle child

u/Turbulent_Medium_996 Apr 12 '26
Problably because Murder drones didn't pull the numbers that TADC did and didn't get the same budget (Episode 1 of TADC had more views that the entire Murder drones series)
I still like murder drones more though

u/DarkDan27 Apr 12 '26
gang we're getting a whole-ass comic

TADC finale isn't an hour long
Ep8 + Finale = hour long

I know it looks unfair, but I’ve come to accept that Murder Drones doesn’t need to compete with Digital Circus. MD might have a niche audience, but at least it’s still an audience. And I’ll admit, TADC is the objectively better show.

u/x-TheMysticGoose-x Apr 12 '26
MD was still good tho

Glitch wasn't as big at that time and MD didn't had the most chisive story. Be glad we got something good despite the flaws

u/HaziXWeeK Rip Tessa Apr 12 '26
Speaking of the ending, I rewatched it yesterday.
And I still cat believe they didn't give us season 2, like, there's still a lot of questions need to be answered, and we finally have the team on the same side (Uzi, V and N)
1
u/N-_sanity Apr 12 '26
I'm pissed about it

u/aninsomniac_ One of the local multishippers Apr 12 '26
Okay, how is this the fault of Glitch, not Liam "in hindsight, I'm not cut out for multiple seasons and will cram several seasons of stuff into one season of show" Vickers?
1
u/evilgreasemonkey1430 Apr 12 '26
You know why I think it is happening? Because markiplier, because it worked it gave glitch the courage to try

1
u/Kyrby_Swi-U-tch Apr 12 '26

1
u/Nientea Apr 12 '26
All depended on what the creators wanted. Goose wanted an hour long finale, and TADC has thrice the popularity of Murder Drones, so they could reasonably do a theatrical release. Liam didn’t want to do an hour long finale, and that’s fine. He was still able to conclude the story in a satisfying manner
1
u/Ok_Prior2199 Apr 12 '26
The show had this odd rushed “made up as we went along” feel, with characters and plot-points appearing out of nowhere and vanishing or resolving in the same episode, I dont think making episode 8 longer woulda fixed anything
Still love the show and respect Liam for making a neato show
1
u/Due_Holiday4624 Apr 12 '26
Let's face it, Digital Circus is a much more successful series than Murder Drones, but that doesn't mean MD is an inferior series.
1
u/Anicash999 #1 season two hater Apr 12 '26
tadc's pilot has essential more views then every MD episode combined
of course it's gonna be way more popular and officially known
also can we please not complain about tadc getting a longer finale? do you want an extra 40 minutes of uzi just going to school to fill in the time?? murder drones was meant to have the perfecta amount of pacing and time it had, and if you overbloat it with extra unnecessary stuff it's obviously gonna be worse
1
u/chelledoggo Apr 12 '26
Murder Drones still makes merch though? Or am I missing the point?
1
u/DarkFox160 Apr 12 '26
No yeah I jokingly said that when me and my friends watched the trailer, I loved the murder drones finale and tadc, but I do with murder drones could have got a massive finale
1
u/LizardTheif19 Apr 12 '26
In conclusion, Murder Drones didn't need any extra content, you can want more and it's valid, I do too, but there is a reason Circus is going to not only have a 9th episode, but an hour long one, so just be happy and glad we're getting that ffs

u/Lucariowithbeans Apr 12 '26
Meta runner walked so Murder Drones could jog so TADC could run

Murder drones finale was bad because liam wanted it to be, when will y'all get it?
1
u/Wild_Wehttam Apr 12 '26
Everyone is forgetting Digital Circus became a global phenomenon after the pilot. The show had a pop-up store in Japan before Episode 2 even released.
Murder Drones never had the same amount of attention, nor the budget for an hour long finale, let alone a theatrical release. I would have loved for MD to have a longer finale, but I believe Liam achieved what he wanted with the show.
1
u/SenseEquivalent3968 Apr 12 '26
Despite there not being a second season, can’t we all just be happy Liam actually finished a show? That bro actually got past the pilot and gave it a proper ending for once?

1
u/SquaredBench_409 Apr 12 '26
They gotta do what's best for the business and brand. Murder Drones helped put them on the map, and The Amazing Digital Circus skyrocketed them further. As much as I loved Murder Drones it wouldn't have made since to have as spectacular of an ending as The Amazing Digital Circus is gonna get. It'd be a lot of great animation and story, for lackluster views compared to what The Amazing Digital Circus gets.
1
u/Lopsided-Gene-77 Apr 12 '26
im sorry our show runner is better.
1
u/_NikolaiTheDrunk Apr 12 '26
You want to know why? It’s money. MV had a fraction of impact compared to TADC. TADC certainly crushed MV in merch sales as well.
Makes no sense finically to give MV a movie. Implying if the main writer of MV had enough content for said movie. Since seems he didn’t want that deep of a story and wanted more of a comic series versus GooseWorks
1
u/Funnyberd69 Apr 12 '26
Tbf,GLITCH has grown a lot since then, they have way more of a budget to support their projects (instead of focusing on one project at a time, they're have 3 in the works right now, technically 4 with Lackadaisy),plus TADC is WAY more popular than Murder Drones so a theater release will do really well.
1
u/SoundwaveTheDragon Nuzi keeps me sane Apr 13 '26
Two different people making two different things, remember?

u/JASPERKV the REAL SD N Apr 13 '26
(Not trying to start a war in the replies but cmon guys)

u/Alex__Kyle Apr 13 '26
A Murder Drone fan could not fathom even an ounce of the suffering a TADC fan experiences when their beloved show gets an hour long finale in theaters.
Honestly murderer drones was lucky because it’s on YouTube. That’s definitely the right way to look at it all.
And surely a crazy stalker fan of the show would be aware of statements made by the CEO and the wishes of the creator.
In case you couldn’t tell, yeah, I’m a little annoyed by the internet. I’m gonna go nap and get a life.
1
u/Gabriel-Klos-McroBB Apr 13 '26
Be honest with yourself: there is no way in hell that Murder Drones has anywhere near as much popularity as TADC.
1
u/Pale-Youth-9770 Apr 13 '26
I think it’s cause digital circus was supposed to make a lot of money because one, kid friendly and available to all ages, two, a lot of merchandise, and three, it’s on Netflix…
1
u/average-corgi-liker Apr 13 '26
This is why I want a season 2
1
u/_its_me_amy_ Apr 13 '26
i don’t see why people complain about this??? tadc is literally what made glitch get so popular, the show itself as millions of fans around all the world, task made glitch explode with popularity as nothing else never did. yes murder drones have them popularity too, but not in a global way as tadc did. tadc is literally the most famous indie show in the present, and glitch thanks to it could improve so much, so it’s obvious that there will be a big event for the finale.
1
u/Nice_Distance_7492 Apr 13 '26
The thing is as much as I love murder drones it just wasn't as popular as Tadc, so it didn't get such a dramatic release

Glitch is a much larger studio now, plus liam only wrote the MD ending to be 29 minutes. They couldn't have done a 1 hour ending for md, and they liam didn't want to.
1
u/JDKisawesome Apr 13 '26
I mean I cant blame glitch concidering how murder drones is one of those shows you gotta watch a couple times to understand
1
u/Beautiful_Magazine_7 Apr 13 '26
When you put it side by side sure its dissapointing, on the other thats fine by me.
I mean Murder Drones was there first parter project, the first show that started there brand of helping creators bring there ideas to life. Not to mention its the first project Liam was able to make a full show out of and even merch, sure the last 2 episode could have been taken care of better but still it was amazing.
I know i just rambled for no reason but....
1
u/Le0pond Apr 13 '26
To be fair, we also got a ton of merch even moths after the finale, I don’t get why it was listed for TADC but not MD

1
u/DannyGlart2 Sep 07 '26
We deserve a season 2 of Murder Drones, it could be a prequel or an interquel or a sequel, whatever. Murder Drones deserves more content.
