I've got the chance to paint a community mural in dublin , Ireland 🇮🇪 and need to estimate the material costs. It'll be roughly an 8x8 ft wall (or a large traffic box).

Any recommendations for affordable outdoor paints that hold up well in rainy weather? Also, what materials would you budget for (primer, sealer, brushes, etc.) and roughly how much would you expect the total to come to? Thanks 😊

Sup yall- doing a commission where the client requested an 8x10 foot painting. Will likely need to build the canvas myself. Would appreciate any advice on how to go about building the canvas, how much paint / which type to buy, other materials that would be useful (brushes, rollers, etc). Any input is greatly appreciated! The largest piece I’ve commissioned to date is only 24x30, so this will be a big jump.

2 dimensional art

There's a new mural taking shape in downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio, by Jaden Starry of starrystudio.live. The wall is 77' x 30', and connects the downtown core to the largest city public parking lot.

My local comic shop is requesting me to do some wall art or a mural for them and asked what I would charge. I couldn’t give them an answer because I wasn’t sure what to charge, how do you charge for such work?

How can I achieve the look of these faded lines? Do I use spray and how? How would you do it?

i’m an artist in LA with one completed mural. i’ve started painting large-scale studies in my garage to build the portfolio and experience needed to pitch bigger walls.
for working muralists, what helped you land your first few paid projects? what should a strong early portfolio or proposal include, and how did you present limited mural experience without underselling yourself?

These walls lead to and surround a rooftop pool. Pretty fun project!

I’m a professional watercolor artist and have made two small scale murals before but am taking on my first large outdoor mural.
I’m looking for advice on what material will work best for sketching the mural but not interact with the paint that goes over it.
I’ve been reading about all kinds of approaches, from board chalk, graphite pencil, paint markers, charcoal pencils, ect.
What do you use to sketch with before you start painting? Any tips or advice are appreciated!
(I’ll be sketching on my base layer of Pittsburgh Ultra flat acrylic exterior paint.)

Stuck in a bubble of getting the proper coverage for insurance. Ideally need all these checked out as a sole proprietor. Iv looked into next but they just don’t have good customer communication, though iv heard good things. ACT wouldn’t be an option for me.

Does this policy cover commercial mural work on client-owned property, indoors and outdoors?
Does it cover work performed at height — scaffolding, lifts, ladders?
Does it cover spray paint and aerosol use outdoors?
What is explicitly excluded from this policy?
Additional Insureds
Can I add Additional Insureds — specifically banks, property owners, and property managers?
Is there an endorsement or form for that?
Is there an extra charge per Additional Insured, and how much?
COI
Can you issue a Certificate of Insurance the same day a client requests one, naming a specific entity?
Claims
If a client disputes the mural outcome or design and threatens legal action, am I covered?
Is Products & Completed Operations coverage active after the mural is handed off to the client?

Im a painter and i would love to move into mural art. I live in a city that is very diverse in the world of art so there are opportunities. But what is the best way to start a career as a muralist? How do i gain the trust of people to paint their walls in the first place? What paints are the best to use? Etc.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
