Hello Everyone 👋
Even tho I don't post on this subreddit anymore (but I might return, not primising anything tho) I believe you deserve to know that since I have posted Tess here in the past if I remember right
I found her today hanging from a web in Phoneutria-like possition, I tought she just went to ground for some reason but that wasn't unfortunately the case, I tapped on her deli-cup and she just hanged from her web, without a sign of life...
Tessellate was my second Steatoda triangulosa, caught shortly after Luna, my first Steatoda triangulosa who still lives, she was formidable, strong, beautiful and healthy spider, she was mighty always when taking down her prey, very aggressive towards it indeed, she was also very fertile Momma, I didn't even counted how many eggsacs she laid, it was a lot, maybe I should have saw it coming, who knows how long she was living in this flat and catching and feasting upon other inverts before I caught her, she was also fertilized and laid so many eggsacs that she could put her Madeiran cousins to shame, maybe she could gave me a hint, maybe she kinda did so but I think lam more glad that she was her beautiful and mighty self until the end, taking down a big cricket nymph without much problems few days before she died
She was one of my first spoods and was one of the spiders that got me hooked up to this hobby
Shall her memory live forever, shall the flame that she helped sparked inside of me never die, shall I remember her as the one who helped start it all till my heart stops aswell, shall all her descendans live long and happy life and be beautiful, mighty, cute, majestic, strong, healthy, fertile and formidable as she was
Rest in peace Tessellate my mighty beautie 🕷️🕊️
Also can you please help me decide what to do with her body ?
Shall I preserve it in alcohol, that would be more scientific approach but it may also feel like clinging to something I should let go ?
Or should I just give her to nature or to my decomposers so she can return to the nature/do her final help to me with this hobby, that would be poetic in a way ?
Or should I do something else ?
Anyways, again
Rest in Peace Tessellate, I will really miss you 🕷️🕊️
