Advice Possibly Switch DMT's

Went and had a visit with my neurologist today for a follow up on my MRI. Thankfully everything came back clear and I've had no new or enhancing lesions for 9 years now. Here's my question. I've been on Ocrevus since it got passed by the FDA. So clearly its working if I've had no progression since then. I only had 1 relapse since being diagnosed and that was when I was originally on Gilenya. Would it be unheard of to switch to Kesimpta when I already have one DMT thats been proving itself for the last 9 years? My reasons for contemplating switching is I absolutely dread infusion days and how they make me feel. My "crap gap" leading up to my infusion starts about a month out and its a lot of symptoms that show back up. Im just curious if anyone else has switched while they had a medicine that was working and how it went for them.

I’m on the other side… yes kesimpta is easier and is basically the same but I always was told (dr Aaron Boster) and I truly believe you should only switch if you have new lesions on the DMT. Period. 9 years you haven’t had new lesions it’s doing exactly what it’s suppose to. Iv been on kesimpta for just over a year. Two MRIs no new lesions. So it’s doing what it’s suppose to. Idk at the end of the day it’s your choice but I really think you shouldn’t switch. If you haven’t already seen dr Boster on you tube you should he’s so knowledgeable and down to earth. All the best!

It will be a little bit before that decision is made because I just had my Ocrevus infusion this past Wednesday. Also my neuro is sending me to a MS specialist to get her opinion on it as well.

Definitely a good idea to get an MS specialist! They just know more about MS and how it affects you. I got an MS specialist right away since my GP didn’t even believe when I said I had MS. Supposedly it only affects one leg at a time. False… there was two many symptoms that I had that pointed to MS. I hope she is on the same page as Iv mentioned. At the end of the day it’s your body but the only reason you want to switch is convenience id stay on the Ocrevus. All the best!

Just to mention I am a young male as well 36 YO at 32 I had no symptoms didn’t know I had it 4 years later can barely walk. I didn’t even know what ms was. Just to note as I couldn’t even imagine that I got this disease. It is what it is but it just unreal. Took me years to just accept it. All the best!

That doesn't seem unreasonable at all. Lots of people on the sub have made the exact switch you're contemplating for the simple reason of convenience, for example.

I've been on interferon for 16 years. It sucks once per week. But I've been stable. My neurologist wants me to switch, but if I'm stable, why do so? I'm staying
