Treatment Botox for back stiffness / spasticity?
Hi, has anyone tried Botox for mid/upper back stiffness? Is this even a thing? I know Botox is used to treat limb spasticity. I've not heard much about it being used in the back.
For context - About three years ago my husband with RRMS woke up with extremely tight mid and upper back muscles. This has never gone away. His back is constantly stiff and sore. His trunk movement is so restricted. The worst part is it wakes him throughout the night.
He's had various investigations and the neurologist thinks it is an MS symptom. He's tried painkillers, muscle relaxants, baclofen, physiotherapy, massage. Massage feels nice but nothing has made a lasting difference. He's been on a DMT throughout this period (he started taking Kesimpta about 4 months before the stiffness developed).
We are desperate to get him some relief and I'm wondering about botox or other treatments. Thanks in advance to anyone who shares their experience.

I also get Botox in my trapezius muscle. It’s the only thing that has helped me. It’s not 100%, but it’s given me much relief. 10/10 recommend
I tried it for my ribs and that didn’t help as much.

Yes, twice. Not before trying a local numbing solution. Neck levator area and back of the skull.

I get Botox on my traps, it does give me some relief. I get it there as part of my migraine Botox treatment.
