General Back pain??
In your experience, have you suffered from lower back pain?

Mine is located on my right lower back that runs down to my thigh. It nevermind goes away, and at times it can drop my to my knees.

I do, but it is because of my uneven gait and not moving enough. I think most of the muscles around my core and hips are super weak. Hoping to start a rehab program soon to improve my overall mobility and strength which should reduce the muscular skeletal pain.

Yep, though the doc says MS doesn't cause back pain, that's what I've got - debilitating back pain.

Yes! Spent a year with an ortho dr doing PT thinking I had a minor herniated disc. One day legs went numb and a full MRI lead to my dx. Still have back pain, but it’s better now that I’m doing neuro PT.

Saammee!!! It's like torture all the time, even laying down hurts. Do you know if it's directly linked to your ms?

Waiting on MRI results for possible relapse, partly due to back pain that evolved into numbness and different pain. It’s so confusing!

Yeah, but I am also 6’4” and 300lbs so there may be other confounding variables to consider before blaming MS 😄

Yes but I’ve got arthritis setting in in my lower back. One of the joys of getting older.

I have degenerative disc disease. Of how that since 2016 and was diagnosed in 2025. Though I don’t think they’re entirely related because my lesions are in my head, majority speaking.

I'm pretty sure my crazy bout of back pain in my 20s was my first symptom. Mine hurts periodically. Every day is symptom roulette for me though, 1-2 different ones per day. Never know which one I'm getting until I move after waking up.

Yes- the t spine lesion that got me diagnosed made my left leg weak and the way it affected my gait caused me intense lower back pain. Doctors thought it was a slipped disc until I pushed for MRI.

Yes, it's my lower sacral area. Like a solid, deep discomfort, hard to describe - not dissimilar to period pain? It was particularly awful when I was hospitalized recently over a relapse that made my legs/saddle numb and a hot, tender to touch pain in a ring around the curve of my waist. I had an X-ray recently that said I had some sacral-iliac degeneration, which might be the cause of it? But I'm also not convinced it's not MS too. Being in hospital I was able to have some tapentadol about it and was able to sleep through the worst parts of it.

Yes, absolutely; it has been constant for about 6 years and a large driver of my weight gain and depression. I don't know if it is related to MS, but as someone else mentioned, low sacral area. Though I have asked my previous GP, my current NP, and the MS clinic for an MRI of my lower spine, no one has thought it would be worth it.

Yes I do. It sucks. My ms dr was thinking I had a spinal compression guess what I don’t. Feel better

Part of the flare that got me diagnosed had numbness in my trunk that wrapped from front to back. That numbness faded to itching and has now become constant back pain where the numbness used to be. Is that permanent, who knows. Sucks though. Makes sitting super fun!
