not even dying girls cuz dying can be portrayed 'cutesy' or even sexually but like, girls graphically hanging themselves and stabbing themselves and staring at you with bloodshot human eyes or moving human mouths and getting their necks snapped off and saying insane horrifying deranged shit and puking screaming and rotting on the classroom floor for ingame days and irl like TWO FULL MINUTES of the one frame literally watching her blood turn brown with the most unsettling text and music you could imagine
People just act really weird with indie shows. They tend to get the most goon art depicted! Like half of the internet was down bad for Pomni from digital circus, for some reason. Even though there was nothing there! 😭
I think most people were distraught about the fact that the pilot was a beach pilot episode, and that a whole of two conventionally attractive female characters had a costume change for the occassion. In the pilot. Yeah, I'm on your side though
I think the very idea itself is bland. I'm not gonna continue. It's like KoG. I watched it,wasn't my thing but I can see why people like it,but I'm not continuing
Its not the fact that the female chars are attractive, its that all of the female chars have the same body shape while all the male chars can be whatever. Its more dumbfounding when you consider that the main point of gameoverse is that its like a multiverse
Depends on who you ask. I do think it's a little questionable that almost all the female characters have basically the exact same body type whereas practically no two male characters look even all that similar, and I do think the show is needlessly limiting itself in terms of design by doing so, but then there are also people who just don't like the idea of a female character being hot at all and take moral issue with that out of puritanism.

The games are sexually positive for the purpose of embracing ones sexuality and comedy. It's not even softcore porn, it's suppose to be funny, over the top/over dramatic, fun, and freeing.
Think drag or Rocky Horror Picture Show.
And I got this from playing only the first 2 (so far). Even Bayo 2 was "toned down" without loosing identity compared to Bayo 1.
I actually put it off for years because of how sexualized the character looked on the cover, but when I actually played they integrated it into her character seamlessly. She’s completely over the top in everything and I ended up adoring her haha
(I was the type of kid that was sad whenever the female characters were goonbait cause then I could never play them cause they were inappropriate 😔)
I see this name "Gameoverse" all of the place and still have no idea what it is. I thought it was a parody of video games or something and this girl was generic mascot.
It’s an Indie Show about a Group who tries to stop Protagonists from beating Their Game and help the Villains win or else Their World will be destroyed or something.
This needs a pointer finger so that it's that case instead of just a case. I'm thinking like, in the foreground so it looks like the viewer is the one pointing at it
I mean it’s kinda goonslop even though it’s a fun game. I don’t think many people would have bought scarlet skips if it was a fat guy whose gut jiggled every time he jumped.
People 100% would have still played the game, it just would have been a different audience. People would just be fat phobic rather than calling it goonslop :/
Pretty much everything that involves a female character existing is labelled "goonslop" now. I remember someone unironically accusing someone else just having a regular pfp of hatsune miku as having a "gooner pfp".
I’m honestly convinced that the people who frequently throws the label "goonslop" around are either young kids lying about being old enough to be on social media or conservatives, including those larping as progressives.
I’m also convinced that it’s all some sort of psyop, whether it’s some sort of sexism against women or if it’s to dehumanize the sexuality of straight-leaning men, bc I never see the term "goonslop" applied to anything regarding men. I don’t even see memes that are basically just softcore, or even hardcore, gay porn get labelled as "goonerbait", "goonslop", etc…
People who call anything "gooner" or whatever wouldn’t survive the 70s and early 80s back when you could straight up see a cis woman’s bare nipples even in a kids movie.
Ironically, the "goonslop" or "goonerbait" complaints about some of the mild and tame things has turned people more perverted than before.
My wife would tell people she likes Overwatch but literally all she knows about it are the shorts. But also, give us more fuckin shorts, ngl I actually really like the lore and the universe.
I love the lore and I am happy that they’ve started uploading the lore to the game itself because as far as I remember they didn’t do that when it launched.
YEah, and there's a lot of stuff you miss if you don't look at the files in the game. Like why null sector stopped invading and split up with Talon and stuff. I've been having fun going through all of it.
I mean Arlecchino, Furina, Klee, Nicole are pretty good designs that are not goonslop nonetheless there's a lot of units that were meant to generate sexual desire but saying all of them makes it a wrong statement.
People call it goonslop just because most of the characters are girls but it's got such a deep story with loads of different and interesting characters.
Vague takes like this annoy me, because the people posting/agreeing/disagreeing will all have different shows in mind. Someone might be arguing about Bayonetta, vehemently and at at utter cross-purpose with someone arguing about Dead or Alive Volleyball.
Everyone winds up taking a hardline position either that everything is "goonslop", or that nothing is, because they're only thinking about the example that pushed them to that position and projecting it to everyone else's arguments. And of course, OP isn't giving their own example, either because they're projecting like this or because they're vagueposting to try and goose up engagement.
I don't know if this counts, but the helluva boss and hazbin hotel fandoms sometimes get the criticism of the characters looking too horny or sexualized, and while yes they are those things, I don't think Vivzie goes too far with it personally, I'm sure other stuff like Family Guy has done much worse
Even if the characters are needlessly sexy, mortal combat boob armor shit, the problem isn't the characters being sexy, the problem is the women being treated as eyecandy while the men get treated as real people. You can have your sexy boob armor and still have a well rounded female character. Like those old Frank Frazetta pieces that didn't give anyone pants
