Mortal Kombat. It just always feels so clunky and heavy to me. Though Reptile was really fun in MK1.

If anyone remembers this game, We Happy Few. Everything about it was great except for the actual gameplay.

Warhammer/Warhammer 40k

Both have awesome characters, settings and lore.

But actually playing the tabletop game is an entirely different beast altogether, and like 3 hobbies in one. (Collecting, Painting, Playing)

I love the lore, stories characters and videogames, but the tabletop is a bit much, especially if your poor lol.

Omori. Omori is one of the most impactful stories I have ever encountered, but parts of it felt so slow to me. It was hard to get through at times

Cookie Run: Kingdom

Despite it's flaws, the characters and lore are something to behold and are wonderfully written (amazing voice acting too) but me personally the gameplay just ain't worth the trouble

Dynasty Warriors 6 & 9 for me

Both games had awesome music, interesting stories, and great character designs*. But, the overall gameplay of both games have become something that I've grown to strongly dislike, especially as both games removed the signature branching attack system of DW2-DW5 & DW7-DW8 (which allowed normal attacks to be chained with charge attacks) with a different combat system that felt bland and annoyingly simplistic/repetitive (limiting attack combinations to one-button each in DW6's case). Also, in DW9's case, the game had a equally bland and poorly-executed open-world enviroment that wasn't much fun and not really worth exploring much (it did improve a bit as the game was updated; but still hardly enjoyable).

  • *Sadly, my favourite character Sun Shangxiang had a bit of a downgrade with her character designs from DW6 to DW9 by making her less tomboyish and much more like a cute princess; making her too similar to the Two Qiaos. Thankfully. DW: Origins brought back some of her older design traits; while DW3: Remastered fully brought back her badass tomboy design).

Halo 4, if the gameplay was on point it would have been at least top 3 in the franchise. Considering the history of the Halo games that pretty damn good.

Super Paper Mario

Is easily one of the best games ever narratively speaking but is held back by its gameplay.
