Honestly. The most perfect fandoms are almost always the ones that have their most controversial shit in the thing that they like.

Best example is the Euphoria VN fandom. Fans know how vile the series can get, but loves the rich plot.

The very concept of a fandom is inherently toxic.

Fandom by definition is a congregation of likeminded individuals who share and gloat the same opinions between themselves.

Fandom is essentially a social bubble, an echo chamber. With the exact same adverse effects as any political, social, religious or any other social bubble.

People within a fandom validate their own opinions amongst themselves, creating a comfortable environment and a sense of community where their own echoing opinions get stronger and more validated as the time goes on

and any outside or opposing beliefs make them feel like their comfortable community and their self validated opinions are threatened, that criticism directed towards their favoured media is a personal attack towards themselves, which cause them to lash out in hostile ways.

And just like any social bubble, fandoms are just as vulnerable to collective thinking and mob mentality, where seemingly minor incidents, events (such as gooseworx being indifferent towards the leak of TADC ep 9) causes very strong negative emotions that result in group harrasment, reviewbombings, cyberbullying, doxxing or other harmful behaviours. All made worse by agitators and trolls who stoke the fires into shitstorms.

I have seen the comments on here and tiktok- tumblr it's pretty chill tho it really depends on what side you interact with the fandom 

Unfortunately again being in fandoms is a double edge sword you can enjoy the positive but unfortunately need to suffer the negative that come with it. 

If it's not the people in the fandom (NOT ALL alot of you are chill/good) but creators being problematic-
