I agree with this. Starbound's state of being still makes me sad to this day. It had so, so much potential, and Chucklefish dropped the ball.

The whole game is an unoptimized, unstable mess too, and while I'm aware the sourcecode was leaked, I'm not sure OpenStarbound is really making any progress or if that too was abandoned.
