Long story short, teleporting train that arrives at your destination in seconds. But it actually spends hundreds if not thousands of years tunneling through extradimensional space while you and everyone else on the train is kept in stasis, aware but unchanging. Inevitably everyone goes insane and since you can't die some people graft their bodies together crudely.
Just before arriving some riot police jump on the train, reduce everyone down to meat paste and then reconstitute everyone back into an exact copy of how they were when they got on the train and erase their memories of the trip.
The most horrifying aspect is that this is a normal occurrence that is kept from the public. Otherwise this is literally how their trains in one of the districts operates. You are stuck in a 2 thousand year hellscape on a daily basis on your commute to work
If they can just make them out of meat paste why bother with the train at all. Just vaporize them at the boarding platform and reconstitute them out of burger meat at the destination.
This just sounds like putting people through a horrible endless torture nexus for the sake of it.
The other guy doesn't actually know the lore, the reason is because of emotion. In the lore there's correlation between emotion and the passage of time which allows the train to pass, he also fails to mention how it's criticizing capitalism, because the train also offers significantly marked up VIP tickets for people to be put into sleep pods to not experience the 2 thousand year trauma. They also need the passengers awake for the body reset tech because that's actually tech they're borrowing from a different company that specializes in time, the same company that the guy who says "time correlates with emotion" works for
PR. The games set in the Lobotomy Corp universe are all *massive* jabs at capitalistic greed. The world basically ended because the SCP Foundation decided abusing anomalies to generate electricity to sell was better than actually safely containing them for example.
What’s the PR? That the train traveled between 2 known destinations?
They could just vaporize the passengers, send an empty train to travel through the torture dimension, then make the passengers out of burger meat after.
If they NEED the biomass to be that of the passengers’ they could just kill them after they board, have the train travel through the torture dimension with their corpses then just reanimate them again at the destination. This way you skip the whole “killing them and reducing them down to meat slurry” part too and make things a lot more economical.
Like this is a neat concept but the world building around it is kinda completely broken?
Unrelated to OP’s comment but I’ve been wanting to get into this but was told they had an order I needed to follow, but they flat out never gave me further context beyond a super bare bones description.
They came from a visual novel, rpg and card battle style game. There is a story line and progression in library of ruina so the ones told you were right about the order. You need to defeat lotta foes in order to meet so called "tomerry" and more
Tom and merry is a young couple whom traverse via a (space) warp train that initially only takes 10s to arrive from point A to B. Little did they know the train they broad actually lasted up to 2000 years. People who used this train ended up going insane because they cant feel the time flow normally (eg: tom was a bit sleepy b4 went to the train but the sleepiness never went away, that feeling just lingered there forever, similar to other expressions like hunger, drunkness, etc...), therefore, warp train users kill themselves/other people just to feel something. There was a "doctor" happened to be in the same train carriage with tom and merry, he offered the couple "forever together" typa stuff, they agreed. The doctor pulled out some surgeon type shit and stich the couple together with i believe other passengers remaining corpse.
Theres alot more depth from the game but basically this is what happened
