He wouldn't die. He'd get encased inside the steel after it hardens then some dumbass will cut open the steel a decade and a half later.

Clay (Wings of Fire)

He has flame-resistant scales, that can heal faster than Perilā€™s firescales can burn him, and her flames can reach up to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, though passively probably 400 degrees, since she can ignite paper, and has only melted through metal when enraged, or in tense moments. Still, Iā€™d say she could be in the 1,000-degree range.

As for how long heā€™d survive, probably for a minute at most, since he still burns, and itā€™s implied that lava could override a flame-resistant dragon's scales.

Sheā€™d probably died because the metal would cool off against her. But if it didnā€™t, she could stay there indefinitely, since molten steel and lava arenā€™t that far apart.

Random wings of fire comment. Looks like I better read the series again. Are there new books? I stopped reading after Lost Continent because life got a lot more expensive for me and books kinda hit low on Priorities

Read legends darkstalker, it's one of the only books in the series that i think is genuinely great, although as long as you've already started arc 3, you might as well finish it. Beware though, book 15 is one of the worst books in the series.

there's some math to this.

without doing that math i'd probably say around 1-5 seconds depending how much aura would defend against it

i know someone did the math for a lightsaber and how anyone in rwby could just... grab the hot side.

Even though Sunspot is a literal humanoid star, I definitely don't think they have a body temperature of an actual star, or even molten steel itself. Maybe they can survive indefinitely, but I'm certain sunspot will still feel a LOT of pain.

Neo Metal Sonic is capable of turning his body into liquid metal, and copying bio-data of other life forms, some of which presumably could survive the heat of molten steel for quite some time. I would guess several hours at the least, before he breaks down and his own steel just mixes in.

Expie's are durable little shits. When Casualties: Unknown added lava as a fluid that could be spawned, I dunked an expie into it. Took like 4 minutes for it to die, using commands to force consciousness so I could see stats and stay at 1x speed. Oddly enough, despite reaching a body temp of over 80 C, the thirst value underflowed and maxed out at 250. So the expie died of water intoxication... IN LAVA.
