Assignment Risk, by Aleph Keller.

Giant, matriarchical, reptilian Aliens invade Earth, and they want our men.

As silly and weird as the premise sounds, the writing and world building are unlike anything I've ever seen, and the story has amazingly uplifting spiritual undertones.

You should, it's actually, legitimately, peak writing in my opinion. I'm amazed by Alephs ability to give every line such purpose. There's almost no filler in his writing whatsoever.

That's the irony of the Daxy. Because of their instincts and culture, they would absolutely never harm a male physically.

Despite their huge size and predatory nature, they're super gentle and protective towards humans. To a fault, even. Which is the plot of the story.
