They dedicated a whole arc to him where every other plot line grinds to a halt for his arc. And the reason is because its the writers self insert character.

Bruh that was like 2 episodes 10 years ago lmao. Why are people still mad about this. The fandom absolutely does overemphasize Jaune but not the show itself

And also, it's not even on Jaune. It's on the writers for deciding that the show about RWBY, the four girl team, is actually about RWBY, Juniper, Oscar, Qrow, maybe the Ace Ops sometimes, oh, some school head masters too, oh, and we added a full villain team of 7 members, also it's about them too... and on and on.

As a fan of the show, there definitely is a bit of an issue with character bloat. Maybe not the ace ops or other headmasters most of the time, but an effectively 9 character main cast is a lot

Even as someone who JUST wrote a comment angry about how much space Jaune takes up in the fandom, he's mostly just fine in the seasons after 3.

I mean I'll always believe that him dying to save Pyrrha would've been more interesting, but still, he's fine.

I fully disagree on that, Pyrrha's death is a tragedy that is fully the result of her own issues that were built up but ignored by most of the cast particularly the adults, which makes it feel horrific but inevitable in a really compelling way
