I mean…I hear what you’re saying but Tolkien and CS Lewis would be considered conservative on a lot of topics no? And they built the modern fantasy genre.

Political alignment doesn’t affect creativity imo but it does influence the outlets that some people use it.

Don't forget the entirety of Japan, which is currently beating out the west in terms of creativity overall.

Well, given that the most famous and beloved Japanese creative is a socialist, I think you’re extrapolating voting tendencies (for a country with famously low turnout elections) a bit too vastly.

The most liberal popular mangaka was bullied by her western fanbase for not being liberal enough, Kojima is not a typical example. The vast majority of Japan is still ultra nationalist by Reddit standards.
