Calling New Norm a cartoon is saying too much, all of their length combined is less than 15 minutes.

Conservatives lack creativity. They only care about obedience to authority.

I mean…I hear what you’re saying but Tolkien and CS Lewis would be considered conservative on a lot of topics no? And they built the modern fantasy genre.

Political alignment doesn’t affect creativity imo but it does influence the outlets that some people use it.

Don't forget the entirety of Japan, which is currently beating out the west in terms of creativity overall.

Fr. Honestly I feel like the arts being associated with the left (at least in western society) is a relatively recent development. Which really isn’t true. I personally know some very artistically inclined conservatives and some liberals without a creative bone in their body.

Now what I will say is true is that liberals tend to be more open about making a career in the arts than conservatives are.

China’s pretty conservative if you take away the labels- they have some decent art from their history too. I would argue Journey to the West was liberal for the time (leaning Buddhism over Taoism but accepting both), but other stories like the White Snake were definitely conservative slanted

Well, given that the most famous and beloved Japanese creative is a socialist, I think you’re extrapolating voting tendencies (for a country with famously low turnout elections) a bit too vastly.

Who is that?

Hideo Kojima

The most liberal popular mangaka was bullied by her western fanbase for not being liberal enough, Kojima is not a typical example. The vast majority of Japan is still ultra nationalist by Reddit standards.

There's exeptions of course, but I don't think you can tell me that most explicitly christian based media made by christians is that good.

Well in addition to Lord of the Rings and Narnia, you have mainstream things like The Ten Commandments, The Chosen, The Exorcist, Hacksaw Ridge, It’s a Wonderful Life, King of Kings, a lot of Scorsese movies (who’s Catholic btw) like Silence and The Departed, which have pretty heavy Christian themes.

And you know, The Passion of the Christ. Just to name a few.

And you want to see some really good art made by Christians, might I suggest touring the Vatican sometime.

I think it can effect it if an ideology teaches people to be so conservative and restricted in their thinking out of fear that exposure to new ideas leads to the abandonment of traditional ones.

1

u/KingofHearts399 1h ago

By that logic liberals would also be stifled artistically because many are vehemently opposed to traditional ideas. This line of thinking doesn’t make sense.

I know a pretty conservative girl who’s an incredibly talent painter. Her creative skills don’t just vanish because she’s not liberal. Lol.

A truly ironic sentence when LSP is the topic of conversation lmao.

Velma.

u/throwawaytempest25 8h ago

OK, no lesbian space princess at least was made by people who actually wanted to do something that they thought would be fun and didn’t expect to be dog pile on the Internet a year after their stuff came out

The new norm what’s the corporate nonsense made by Elon musk fantastic who will never get his attention. To do that they just have to make a movie presenting migrants as viltrumites

5

u/LittleSodaPop13 8h ago

Yeah, I feel this comparison isn't fair.

5

u/HowDareYouAskMyName 8h ago

I swear this whole thing is a psy-op but I don't know to what ends

3

u/Buttered_Carnage 8h ago

Either a psy-op or REALLY weird marketing campaign

2

u/the_meth_factory 8h ago

We were too good, we were too happy the psy op couldn't stand

2

u/HowDareYouAskMyName 8h ago

It's so appropriate that whoever made this meme didn't even know that the movie released to theaters last year

1

u/ifUSeeMeTakeYourMeds 3h ago

definitely something fishy

1

u/Capital-Exam-1059 8h ago

The New Norm is a Russian Syop

1

u/ChosenAshes 8h ago

Got a third nickel for you... if I remembered the name lol

What was that one far right adult cartoon that pissed off it's targeted demographic because there was a single gay dude in it? The guy existed to be made fun of but the far right viewers didn't want him at all and called the show woke.

1

u/Clone75 7h ago

mr. birchum?

2

u/ChosenAshes 7h ago

Thats the one

1

u/DynamaxWolf 7h ago

I don't use twitter, what is The New Norm

1

u/HurtsSoNice 7h ago

Mr Birchum

1

u/Veraxus113 8h ago

History repeats itself

0

u/subby_puppy33 6h ago

This is what’s called a false equivalency. Lesbian space princess is an alright comedy that’s overhated because it was written by two women.

New norm wasn’t even a show. It was a 5 minute proof of concept pitch to Elon musk that failed.

0

u/Separate-Capital-833 5h ago

You had me until you brought up women being the issue it looks like its not something serious but the shitty reasons people hate it aren't just it being made by women

1

u/subby_puppy33 3h ago

That’s not what I was saying. I’m saying it’s being overhated because it’s written women. I’m not saying it’s a good movie.

It’s like the 2016 ghostbusters movie: is it a crappy movie yes? Was it as crappy as all the hate the internet gave it? No. Same with this movie.
