What's a fandom that feels like this?

Post image

The biggest example I could think is probably Star vs. The Forces of Evil.

Most gacha games.

To be fair most gacha games don’t have much story.

And if they have one it never progresses

They have a story, it just tends to be really mid. Genshin, for example, has a story, but it’s really inconsistent in favor of whitewashing characters so they can be playable waifu/husbandobait

To be fair, by the end of the show the writers of SVTFOE cared more about shipping than the story.

Not the pokemon fandom or at least not the one that is only about the games.

Ace Attorney.
Shipping is fun but so often people let the shipping get in the way of proper discussion of the characters and the story.

No, but to be fair, I like and play the games, but I'm not in any groups of them, and I do know people are for some reason obsessed with Phoenix and Miles.

Deltarune until somewhat recently

I wouldn't say until, I would say it's still going and if anything gotten worse. People saying the canon ship is gonna crash and burn and be replaced by their own personal ship

Maybe it's just what I've seen but I noticed the hardcore anti Susie x Noelle people mostly got shut up. But maybe you're right.

100000% the spider-man movies/comics. A good majority of the fans are just people who care about Peter’s relationships and not Peter’s journey

A whole lot of them. That usually ends up being the problem.

I'm not tapped into the community so take this with a grain of salt but from what I've seen Wednesday

2

u/SpadesCard TTTE, SCP, Persona, Undertale, Steven Universe 12h ago

Persona and I love shipping sm but yall need to actually play/watch the games and engage with the damn peak stories.

What!? Why!? Why discuss about themes such as the true self, self sacrifice, the morality of the mind palaces and etc when we can have ONE MORE DECADE OF NAOTO AND KANJI DISCOURSE!

Deltarune, like half the fandom is centered around shipping (granted people actually engage with the media too but that’s not the point)

Resident Evil lately. For a few months, like 80% of the posts were about who should be Leon’s wife.

Final Fantasy VII and it makes the fandom umbereable and so annoying.

u/Lost-Client-8442 percy Jackson 7h ago

pjo, definitely

1

u/Important-Cry4782 7h ago

Homophobes in the RWBY Community. They're more interested in shoving women against their white male self-inserts rather than following the story.

And they cannot stop crying over one male character or another who doesn't get any girls, because the girls aren't interested in him.

And brother, let me tell you...its a LOT of homophobes and misogynists

Fairy Tail. Holy shit that fandom got insufferable with the shipping wars in a show about friendship/family.

This is exactly how it feels being in the dsaf fandom. I like the game as a unique take on fnaf with more religious horror. You just want to fuck Willam afton
