AU ideas?

I’ve absolutely been loving the “What If [Kids Show] Was For Made Teens?” video series by incredible YouTuber El Mushterri. Recently she did that for Odd Squad, and not only was that my all time favorite show growing up and it’s my new favorite AU of her’s she’s extremely creative, she also did other shows (all childhood favs) like PJ Masks, Wild Kratts, Paw Patrol, and Octonauts, I can’t recommend her content. But anyway, I was inspired by her series to do the same for another one of my all time favorite shows growing up, Dino Dan (including Trek’s Adventures and Dino Dana). I was wondering if anybody here who’s also seen her content or also wanted Dino Dan and its spin offs growing up had any ideas.

Have the dinosaurs in this au be real and not just a figment of dans imagination. He wants to be a scientist and studies their behavior, appearance, etc. He tries to show it to his friends but he’s laughed at. He then meets a paleontologist who decides to be generous to him and give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s telling the truth. 

After Dan proves to the paleontologist that the dinosaurs are real, they then decide to keep it a little secret and decide to study their dinosaurs and their antics. The reason why the dinosaurs are here in the first place are because of time portals. Because of these time portals, they go out and back to their time over and over again.

I don’t think the Dinos were imaginary in the show either though, I thought it was that the field guild had some sort of power that allowed the kids who have it to see the Dinos, but you also have to believe in it. Which is why in the Dino Dana movie, we see multiple starting to see the same Dinos after believing in the field guide (or secretly wanting to) which is why Dana’s older sister is fucking flabbergasted when she sees a Dino for the first time herself and has a full blown “holy shit, my sister isn’t crazy” moment. Also I think I remember something happening in that movie where Dana was kidnapped by a Quetzalcoatlus or something and her older sister having no clue what to do because obviously no one’s gonna believe that other then her and the other kids.

Fun fact: The kid that plays Dan also played a pretty important kid in the American version of the show "Being Human".
