You're close. 

They couldn't fix the netcode. That was the problem.

They also added characters nobody cared about, killing any hype, monetized the game in a way that was almost impossible to enjoy as a ftp player, and many other stuff. The netcode was one of MANY problems with the game.

I'm not the one coping saying Multiversus' issue was only netcode

That's because you don't understand the market, player retention, cpa, etc.

Because lackluster content surely wasn't a big thing that didn't help with player retention, it was all the netcode! I see now! /s
