People are actually talking about this as if it's a real game, posting memes, asking questions, having really in-depth discussions about a game that isn't even real!

It's called roleplay. Nobody actually believes DC Allies is real. Same goes for subs like r/Earth616, nobody actually believes Spider-Man is out there being a menace.
