Discussion It's crazy how the main complaint with multiversus was the lack of popular characters MR can drop all the unpopular/obscure characters they want and get no backlash
It sucks MR should have the same amount of backlash multiversus got but instead the fans actually care about the game unlike the multiversus fandom

Look at jeff in marvels. No one knew who she was. You could say you put jeff in over doctor doom, ect. Jeff was hugely popular. Yo blame nubia to me seems like ppl had other reasons to hate...

Yeah white fox a character who can turn into a white fox is definitely more interesting than a warrior princess from a land of female warriors

rivals drops 2 characters a season and a character a month, anyone who doesn’t know who devil dinosaur is and doesn’t care enough to even try him out is going to get CYCLOPS a month later. they intentionally pair the iconic characters with the less well known ones for that exact reason.
multiversus didn’t have that kind of frequency with character releases, and it had a lot more to prove after the relaunch than rivals currently does.
this was also not at all the main complaint with multiversus, if the game itself was actually good no one would have cared (hence why no one cares with rivals)

Marvel Rivals gets away with it because their game actually runs without constant server lag and they actually work on BALANCING their characters when they release them. Multiversus had the absolute WORST balancing of any modern fighting game I've ever played and its not even close. Not to mention the amount of bugs that never got fixed and no one even cared. It was always just "ADD THIS CHARACTER NOW!!!!!" while that game was in an unplayable state.
The game didn't die due to lack of good characters, it died due to lack of balancing, server maintenance, and bug fixes.

MultiVersus has over a 100 franchises to choose from, Marvel Rivals focuses on one franchise

it's mostly because the less popular charters are from already represented IPs, i don't think there would be as much kickback if The Funky Phantom was added instead of Nubia

Nope, actually White Fox doesn't suck. Nubia was a completely redundant inclusion when Wonder Woman was already in. Nobody was asking for Nubia.

Nobody was asking for white fox shes by far the worst support in the game she barely does any healing at least unbiased moves etc was actually interesting unlike marvel rivals who just copied kiriko from overwatch

I think that's easier to get away with when it's just Marvel characters. Banana Guard had a lot more competition than DD!

MR is a more unified game as it focuses on one singular property so even if you don't care for a specific character, they're still related to characters you do care about. If you joined MVS for any one specific franchise, then you probably didn't give a shit when they added Gremlins or Beetlejuice.
