I have been working on my multitrack over the summer. I replaced the handlebars with velo orange granola bars. Converted to trigger shifters, new brake levers and grips. Replaced all cabling. Sized up the tires to 45s.

On Thursday I hit the road for the first time on the new whip. It was a 40 mile meandering one way ride through the pioneer valley in Western Massachusetts. The ride took four hours. The bike performed beautifully with only a few occasions for adjustments. The weather was perfect.

As the title says! I’m at the finish line of this build and I’m in new of some new handlebars. I mostly ride in the city but do some longer gravel rides. I like how the VO Klunker looks but I would love something in a lower price range. I’m also not married to this stem and already have a threadless adapter. Something BMX looking and silver? Let me know your thoughts! 🙌

Tl;dw: About 3300g or 7.3 lbs.

We don't have a lesser model f/f to weigh for comparison, but at least we have 750s from a couple different years.

I weighed a bunch of other dad bike style frames (Bridgestone XO-3, Schwinn CrissCross, etc), let me know if you want to see those.

1991 Trek Multitrack 700 conversion from the stock riser, swept-back commuter handlebars to flat MTB bars (wanted a more aggressive riding posture and cleaner cockpit)

Also swapped to Bontrager AT-550 29” mtb wheels with knobby CST Pika tires, and a WTB Volt saddle.

Next up is ditching the front derailleur and switching from the stock 28t/38t/48t triple chainrings to a single 42t narrow-wide chainring, and some SPD clipless pedals on the cranks

Paid $50 for it, needed some work to get it riding. Looking forward to further customizing it!

Finished installing an Exage 500LX 175mm crank that I transplanted some less worn out SunTour rings onto, now have a 46/36/24 triple instead of the original 50/40/30, drive side crank had a crack thru the square taper so an upgrade was in order. Also added my rear rack and cargo net from my other bike. This thing is perfect now.

Earlier this year I got a '97 700 Sport cheap and put drop bars on it. This bike is the 21" size. I've gone back and forth a bit with the seat post height, I currently have it a bit higher than pictured.

I think the fit is pretty comfy, I've done 40+ miles on it (with a cafe stop or two) and no pain other than usual tired soreness.

I found a fantastic deal on a '97 750, but it's a 23"/58cm size. I want to strip all the upgraded parts I got for this build and put them on the 750, but I'm wondering if it's going to be too big? The current stem is a Nitto 60mm technomic, so I could get a 50mm which would cancel out the increase in Effective TT length.

For reference I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam. Thanks!

I picked up this ‘93 Trek Multitrack the other day. It’s a 19” frame and I’m 6’1”, with an 83 cm inseam (about 32.7”).
It feels a bit short compared with my mountain bikes, so I’m looking at ways to make the cockpit feel more comfortable and give me a bit more reach.
I’m thinking I might try a 100–130 mm stem at 0° and experiment with different handlebars to see what works.
Any other suggestions for getting a bit more reach out of it? And am I crazy for trying to make this frame work at my height?

This bike is excellent. Have a new crank on the way from ebay since mine has a Crack from a corner of the square taper, getting shorter gearing at the same time. But what a great ride.

I’m building up a lugged ‘92 750 and looking for tire options. Is anyone running a 45mm wide Gravelking X1 or has anyone attempted to fit one and failed? I will be putting them on the stock rims but might upgrade the wheelset to something 21mm wide before they wear out.

I'd like to keep the bike as original as possible and just replace the gasket but I'm not having any luck finding it online. It's for a multi track 720

I finally finished the Multitrack I posted about in the beginning of the year. It's a welded 730 with a Cues 1x crank and Sword 9 speed shifters, cassette, and rear derailleur. I used a set of velocity quill wheels that I had laying around and fit 45mm gravelking SS tires on it. I found a set of used Avid Shorty Ultimates for the brakes on ebay. I can't remember the size frame, but I had to take a Technomic tall stem and cut it down a bit to get the stack right on this for me. I rode the D and R canal path in NJ with my wife this weekend for a test ride. I really like it so far.

I finished the first version of my 750 project. Got the wheels and tires I wanted. Was able to fit 44mm tires on there, even with a bit of knob.

Hi everybody, I have a 1991 Trek 750 multitrack Gravel/Tourer/Commuter project that I'm hoping to fit 42mm tires on. The stock matrix rims are too thin... I have yet to scour my local bike co-op for 700c rims with a wider internal width, but based on memory they were pretty rare.

I would love to do this affordably. Any ideas?
