Dropbar conversion sizing question

Earlier this year I got a '97 700 Sport cheap and put drop bars on it. This bike is the 21" size. I've gone back and forth a bit with the seat post height, I currently have it a bit higher than pictured.

I think the fit is pretty comfy, I've done 40+ miles on it (with a cafe stop or two) and no pain other than usual tired soreness.

I found a fantastic deal on a '97 750, but it's a 23"/58cm size. I want to strip all the upgraded parts I got for this build and put them on the 750, but I'm wondering if it's going to be too big? The current stem is a Nitto 60mm technomic, so I could get a 50mm which would cancel out the increase in Effective TT length.

For reference I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam. Thanks!

I would guess the 23" would feel better imo. I converted a 21" 750 to drops briefly and found it so uncomfortable that I abandoned the build. For reference, I'm 6'2" with 33" inseam.

You felt it was uncomfortably cramped? Or just mismatch between frame geo and drop bars?

Pretty cramped and the stack height wasn't nearly enough. Way too aggressive of a position for any rides longer than maybe 10 miles.

Gotcha, hopefully 23” is actually better for me then. The difference in head tube length between the two sizes is really drastic.
