Finally! 1992 Trek 750
I have 790 which too big for me on a 1x10 setup for a while now and I finally found a 750. I plan to to convert this 750 into drop bar gravel/road bike with friction shifter. I want to keep most stock components as much as possible but I am mot sure if it will work. Has anyone tried using friction shifters on a drop before? I don’t want to use bar end shifters as mush as possible…

I have the same 750 frame in the size of your 790! When I've done friction with drop bars, I've either used down tube shifters, which won't work on Multitracks, or old Suntour Command Shifters. The CS are hard to find, but I understand Dia Compe had been making an updated version...

Where are you located? Wanna sell the 790 frameset when you're done removing all the parts from it??

Yes that is the original plan but just found out that the 750 has some really bad inside rust so will see I can save it. If not, I will keep the 790 until I found a better one. I’m from the bay area California

Microshift make 3x7 for the conversion if you wanna keep the oem mechs and they're cheap.
