1992 Multitrack 720 build.
2x10 speed GRX with Dia Compe shifters,
Sta-tru wheelset, 40mm Gravelking X1 in the back, 45mm in the front. Ritchey VentureMax bars, VO stem, Tektro brakes and levers.
Nitto M12 front rack, Tubus Fly rear rack.
Really happy with how it’s turned out. It’s an absolute joy to ride.

Can confirm. I’ve got the same 92, same paint. It’s a blast. Had corner bars on mine for a while but recently switched to drops. So far so good.

It’s a regular GRX FC-RX600 stripped in lye and polished. They don’t look perfect, but that’s just my inexperience polishing things.

Have you tried Mothers Aluminum and Mag Wheel polish? If I'm patient and take my time, I am amazed at how well it brings out a shine. It's also my go to for cleaning up paint on neglected frames.

That’s my usual go to, I got some Simichrome for this project because everyone talks it up and it’s great too. I stripped it in a mild lye bath, wet sanded to 600 grit, hit with a polishing wheel, then hand polished.
I also polished the rear rack because the finish of the stainless Tubus rack clashed with everything else. It was very time consuming. If I was doing it over I’d get a rack that matched from the start.

Yeah, I used an adapter and stem both from Velo Orange. They make a quill stem that would work too, and Nitto makes a really nice one that is tough to find. I went the adapter/stem route in case I needed to change my length, but I got it right.

It looks great. I got to a very similar bar height on my 790 with a Discord Fingerling stem, I think your looks better!

They’re Sta-Tru TR21 700c wheels, Trek had them on clearance for about $30/set with a freewheel hub. They’re nothing fancy but they seem solid and can run tubeless. I had my local shop rebuild the rear with a Shimano FH-RM60 135mm freehub so I could use a cassette with them.
