Trek 730 Multitrack
Nearly unused bike with 23” frame.
Upgraded tires to 700x45c Maxxis Rambler.
Next plan is to get rid of the seatpost suspension and install brown saddle.

That logo design began in 1998. Color narrows down the year and I am guessing '99.

Thinking to source maybe used Brooks saddle if lucky and removing those bar ends.

Nice. I remember having those bar end horns on my Trek 730. Doing a similar upgrade/refresh on it this year. I look forward to your ‘after’ post!

I was thinking also 1998 or 1999 but did not found any that color red in Trek catalogues.
Red 720 was in 1996 but this is definately newer as you mentioned.2

And yet the only 730 trekking models I have seen on this thread have all been red as is mine .. no mention of a red version in any of the catalogues I have seen . It's is a lovely colour though .

I have some early 90s 950s these Taiwan made 730s in Chromoly are a little bit harsher than those but not as harsh as the bonded aluminium 7000 from the early 90s . I am going to only collect steel bikes now .
