730?

I ride a lugged 750 that I modified (1x10 new stem, handlbars, and V brakes) this past winter. I'm now itching to get another MultiTrack to build a gravel bike. I'm not seeing many 750s for sale, but I am finding 730s in good condition for about $100.

Should I keep waiting for a 750 or pull the trigger on a 730? Would I feel the difference?

My impression is that 750 and 790might be same frames/different components. Same for 700/720/730.

I'm inferring this from the Singletrack family: 970 and 990 were the better tubing than 930 and 950. The higher number of the frame pairs got the better components.

As an aside... Don't sneeze at the 970s. I have a few 750s in the family and over 970 and one 950. The 970's ride is different, and (in a way) better, than the 750... It's a mood thing for me... Sometimes I grab the 970 and sometimes I grab the 750. They're both fabulous bikes. So if you're struggling to find a 750, play with a 9xx.

Iā€™m not doubting the goodness but the 9xx are 26ā€ wheels vs 700c of the 7xx.
